Why would he give less than 100%?
If I play in a five aside on astro turf with work I give 100% FFS. Should be a given playing as a professional.

Sure, but I hate the way it's put forward as a big attribute when it's the least a player should be doing.

your right but how many great players dont put in 100% its usually players with less ability that bust a gut. ya have ronaldo as an example who wont do f all and a very well payed individual and then ya have the likes ob david battys, robbie savage, even keane to a ertain extend who did not have ability of some people but busted a gut on the pitch every time. just cos they payed does not guarantee commitment, ya seen that with faz enuf

Everton's players will regroup following the trip to North America and travel to Coventry on Saturday.
Manager David Moyes is set to utilise the same group of players who featured on the ten-day tour of the USA and Canada.
Steven Pienaar, who missed the second game of the tour against the MLS All-Stars, looks set to travel to the Midlands for Sunday's game,
which is Marcus Hall's testimonial.

Tim Howard and Carlo Nash are battling for action in goal after the USA keeper was named MVP against the All-Stars on Wednesday following an excellent performance in which he saved three penalties.

Young Irish full-back Seamus Coleman didn't play at all in America because of a toe problem,
so Moyes may draft in cover from the reserve squad after their training camp in Austria.

The Toffees seem assured of a tough game against the Sky Blues as their boss Chris Coleman prepares for the Football League kick off in a week's time.
"Marcus deserves to be rewarded for the great level of service he has shown this club,
but first and foremost Sunday's match is one of the last chances the players will have to show me what they can do ahead of Ipswich,
and will have a major bearing on my team selection for that game," said Coleman.
Everton: Nash, Howard, Hibbert, Neville, Yobo, Lescott, Baines, Rodwell, Osman, Pienaar, Cahill, Fellaini, Jo, Baxter, Wallace, Saha, Vaughan.

Hopefully Seamus can get back to fitness soon. Big blow to miss out on pre season

Has anyone told the lad in the back that he needs a haircut  the ball could get lost in there during a match if he heads it.

What a Statement!!!

Do you give 100% in your workplace everyday or is there the odd morning where you go FFS Im not in the form for this! No difference in my eyes!

Yes.
Of course there's a difference. A match is once a week. I could forgive an odd day not being arsed in training. But not in a match Shiba.

Just been reading it on the information page on Sky, it says: 'Plus, a new feature profiling up-and-coming players begins with Seamus Coleman'

Should be good.

Starting at 12.05am

The worrying aspect for Seamus is that Everton have been linked with one or two right backs recently. It would be great to see him progress to being a first team regular.

i still mantain we were wrong to let judgie go. he had a tough time last season off the pitch and his head couldnt have been in the right place. when he was in form that summer in 2007 he was the best striker ive seen at the showgies for a very long time

Couldn't agree more, Cook obviously didn't rate him and that was a shame. Even when we needed a goal he would rarely use Judgie as a sub and it must have been soul destroyin for him. We could have done with him this season on more then one occasion!

ya Judgie was great in 2007 but was a disaster in 2008.
If Cook had kept him on and was the same this season everyone would be criticising him,
He was right to let him go, unfortunatly we dont have the budget to take risks like that,

Back on topic, any word on Seamies injury?

Hopefully hes fit soon, looking at Evertons bench on sunday there wasnt one defender on it, (altough Gosling can play at right back) and hibbert has to be one of the worst players in the premiership. Everton are going to have a lot of games coming up soon with qualification for the Europa cup group stages almost guaranteed and the next round of the carling cup

He is currently out of contract and looking for a club according to wikipedia. Totally agree with you re Cooks lack of patience withthe lad which was a shame considering some of the goals he scored for us.

Hibbert is a good player. It will be difficult for Seamus to break into the team. I think he'll make it however. Seamus is a legend and he'll play for Ireland for years to come. I'd say he will break into the Everton and Ireland teams in about a years time. ( for Euro qualifiers).

Hibbert got sent-off in Evertons last European game so he should be getting a ban for a few games. Will this open the door for Seamus?

Have to disagree with you Brian about Hibbert, the guy is a total liability.
He was sent off after 5 minutes in Thursdays Europa qualifier.
Unfortunatley Seamie wasnt in the squad and Everton had the same bench as sundays, which didnt include one defender.
James Wallace and Jose Baxter got a run out for Everton on the night so if Seamie can get fit he'll surely get a chance

hibbert will be suspended for a game or two, hopefully 3 now :P hope seamie gets fit asap and gets back into it. im sure he'll start off in the reserves again and get his fitness back up and maybe he'll get his chance then. he's had no luck at all since going over, something you need in england.

he was going to be on the bench v portsmouth last year i heard but he got injured in the week leading upto it. would probably be on the bench so far this season if he was fit. he was told he'd be on the bench v arsenal if he wasnt injured anyway

ya have to agree with you about luck,
so many players go over and things dont work out due to bad luck with injuries more than anything else.
If seamie can get fit hes got a real chance at Everton.
