I suppose the only players worth seeing would be Djorkaeff, Okocha and new signing Jardel.

its a 2004 preseason game and because of this, the Ireland v Russia and the UCD v City will have to be moved back to accomadate??? Surely the FAI will have no objections?
Gareth Farrelly ain't doing too well with them at the minute so maybe City could sign him up!!
maybe its an especially arranged trial game so that city can have proper look at gareth faralley before he signs for us. i mean w dont wana sign any old cr@p players like

because of the U21 game on Friday nite, UCD changed the game to the sunday as to avoid damaging their huge crowds.....

so does that mean we got 3 matches in 3 days
U21's on friday
Ireland on saturday
City on sunday
think of the voices lads...surely theres a UEFA or FIFA guideline on fans having 3 matches in 3 days like that..
:ball:

anywhere between the price to see a wolves friendly (8euro) and a celtic friendly (36euro).
shouldn't be more than 10-15euro i'd imagine. can't see Bolton throwing all their 'stars' on for anything more than a jog about, the prem will be started at that stage.

in fairness thecorner, it's been chalked down for a wednesday, it's not going to affect any fixtures whatsoever.
NOTL's comments were tongue wedged firmly in cheek. no games are going to be moved around to accomodate this. the UCD game was moved from the friday i think because of the irish U21 game, but in any case the UCD boys don't seem too put out (some seem happy to hit the bar on a sunday evening).

I heard that yourself and Dodge invented the whole concept of friendly matches.
Is that why you're so annoyed, did Dolan not ask ye're permission?

Bolton’s Nigerian midfielder Jay-Jay Okocha has celebrated his birthday by being named new club captain at the Reebok Stadium.
Okocha, who played a vital role in the successful fight for Premiership survival last term, takes over the armband from the retired Gudni Bergsson.
“It is a great honour. I have enjoyed playing for Bolton and I have a great commitment to this club,” said Okocha, 30 today.
“I hope this will be a new sign on how the club is progressing.”
Manager Sam Allardyce added: “I was impressed with the way he took on the extra responsibility towards the end of last season. On several occasions he was world class.
“He showed great maturity and if he is half as good as Gudni then we have found the perfect leader to take us on to the next level,” he told the club’s website, www.bwfc.co.uk.
Okocha this week announced he will play only in competitive matches for Nigeria after being pressured by Allardyce to make the Lancashire club his priority.

St Pats still haven't learned their lesson!
All correspondence must be sent via registered post.
There could be another 12 point docking for this.
Hence forth this will be referred to as the "Faxgate" scandal.

according to neil (of all people) on 96fm the game is going ahead and is something to do with the dav
Glanced at the back of the Echo there...
3 Sept
Testimonial for Dav
I think
Is it a City team or some sort of Cork/Munster selection thats playing?
Anyone know?
Maybe the Dav will line out himself? After all he's not that much older than Deccie Daly ;)
I think that it is a good run out for the team to play a team form the premership. We can then have a look how flynn and Georg play in the match against good players and to see Dan and Derek can do in the defence for us. At lest we never put back a premer match to play Bolton Wanderers that is a good thing on it's own.

just saw an interview with sam allardyce and he was talking about his desire to play some friendly or 'behind closed doors' games because AC Milan midfielder Ibrahim Ba is training woith Bolton at the moment and he wants to see him in action before he decides on a contract for him.
