Sad to hear. Is the poster 'SuperGretna' still on this board?

Could've been Pats or Rovers too, the way Shoddy was trying to tout Mileson around as the Great White Knight of Irish Football.

Sad? Good to see a stupid little play thing being flicked back to the non league nothings they are.

Ah, the very model of compassion and empathy. Just in case you hadn't noticed there are now several hundred football fans without a team to follow at all, not even the prospect of non-league football to look forward to. Not exactly life-threatening but sad all the same, no?

As an aside, would you be so damning if it was an eL club "living the dream" whose dream had backfired so spectacularly?

Shels and CHF, and even us, hardly got an easy ride. If fans are willing to ride the wave of unsustainable spending, they have to take the fall too.

Again a tad harsh. I'm sure there were one or two gretna fans voicing concerns about Mileson coming in. Can't really blame them for celebrating promotion after promotion. And I guarentee you there's a Pineapple McStu somewhere on a scottish third division forum posting I told you so for the past 3 months.

Do a quick search from above there for "shels haha" in posts from gavinzac.

I know several supporters of Blue Square Premier (Conference to me and you) clubs who are already preparing their "welcome Loo-town" banners for the 2009/10 season. :D

Oh well, at least you're consistent. :)

I'm not delighted, just not overly sympathetic that's all. You just have to accept it - speaking from experience.

Woh, I have been zinged and I love it! :)

Though I assume you meant "three years".

(And try not to make me sound like the new McDonald's healthy option in future...)

Gretna starts again from scratch

Gretna will play in the East of Scotland league this season
A bid by supporters to try to retain a football team in Gretna has been successful.

It's good to see for the genuine fans of the club.

that fella was a legend. Do you think he should be invited back to this site and allowed to pick an EL team, now that he will be without football for awhile

Dear Member,

On behalf of The Board I would like to extend advice relating to the the time at which to post a reply, relative to your opening of the thread. A MAB policy is to suggest in most cases (for a list of exceptions, email info@membershipadvisoryboard.ie) that one should read the thread before posting a reply or observation. This recommendation is weighted doubly so if you plan to attempt wit or sardonic humour in your post.

All the best with future postings.

Looks like he didnt come back on here after derry hammered them... a good laugh was had!

some classic quotes -

He starts a thread "Its not long now lads" - Till we show all of Ireland what Gretna FC is about, i shall be expecting an apology from all of you when we destroy Derry in a few hours.

Its not like we're playing Marseille, its only Derry City ffs, our budget is bigger, our players are paid more and our team is better:cool:

You'd fancy Derry to beat Hearts?
LOL, seriously how deluded are you?:D

Im going to have a field day quoting all of "Patricks" posts when we knock these spud pickers out

I'm only seeing this thread now and it may be because it's 4.30am on a Sunday morning, but hehehehe.

The Marseille comment should be engraved on this site.

It's been engraved in dcfcsteve's signature for the last umpteen years.

Seeing it every time I log on would drive me nuts from the repetitivity.

Good Riddance. I feel genuine for both their genuine fans. Leaving a dream you can't afford is neither big nor clever. No loss to Scottish football.
