Funeral for a Friend is a horrific name too. Indie bands have some appaling names as mentioned, a few more.. the Kooks, Razorlight,....

If you think that The Band is a lazy name , i suspect you may be quiet young and don't the history behind it... if you're over 40 then you simply don't know your music history...suggest you check out a book called " Accross the great divide" , which IMO not only tells the story of the members of The Band and how the name came about but is also one of the best histories of the Woodstock (not the festival but the town and it's inhabitants)/Dylan/60's era

I agree. The hype regarding them has gone too far. 'Thats Not My Name' the most annoying single this year. 'Shut Up and Let Me Go' is possibly worse. How on earth did they get so much hype?

Me too. Had a couple of thoughts as to what it might mean but none of them made any sense either. :D
I like "That's Not My Name". But then I don't see Oasis as the saviours of music, this or any year. Horses for courses and that.
Now that would be a terrible name. :)

Ting Tings album isn't half bad actually, in a CSS kind of way. Saw them (just a drummer and yer one) do That's Not My Name live on some TV show and was very impressed - beautifully hypnotic.


Shameful band name of the week goes to a Dutch 60's early Beatles-type band called........ 'Chums'.
