Enjoyed watching this two hour documentary on CH4 last night.I was surprised to see it on because I'm sure it was in the Cinema recently.
Based almpst entirely on Interviews with participants in the Apollo mission to the moon with some great archive footage(e.g driving around on the Moon Buggy).
At times watching it I felt there was something missing but not sure what-perhaps the structure needed tweaking.
However its real triumph was the charm and modesty of Mike Collins,Buzz Aldrin etc who all conveyed an amazing childlike sense of wonder.
Pity Neil Armstrong was not invovled.Would love to have seem him participating.

While watching it I could not help but recall the time a Dublin Taxi driver told me the now famous Neil Armstrong/Mrs Popoleski joke which for some reason really hit the spot.Onlookers looked bewildered, as I could barely give him his fare for laughing so much.I tried to tell the joke in the pub later but messed it up because I kept laughing before I could get the punchline out.
Dammit, what seemed hilarious in 1995 does'nt seem to cut it anymore.
