I think he played a lot more than that.
Didn't he also go in nets when Tony O Dowd was sent off away to Levski Sofia or am I talking out of my hoop?
You may well be correct.
Tohill also replaced O'Down in 1996 away at UCD when Tony was red-carded. Pat Kelly was the referee.
Archives. Aren't they just magical. ;)

Was going to edit to put Brosnan in. Damn you rambler14! :D
He was famously (relatively) let go last season for lining out for a GAA club side a day or two before a crunch Blues match.
Likewise Neil Gallagher for Dundalk last year. Though we're getting off the subject of county appearances.

"fell through"? Wasn't he banned for months for lamping a ref in a junior match?
Think you could be right there, can't remember the exact details...

did anyone mention Jason Sherlock yet? Or Eoin Bennis? Or Eamon McLoughlin? Or Mick Deegan he played in the north at least (Crusaders?), I think, with another of the 90s Dubs, but not sure f he ever played LOI).
What about Keith Barr who, I think, scored a rocket against portsmouth (maybe even a hat trick???) for shels in a pre-season friendly?

Don't know if he had white boots or whether or not he is crazy but he played half a season with us under Tommy Cassidy, he was very young at the time. He currently features for the Fermanagh County team as well as playing for Dungannon Swifts (I think) in the Irish League.
Did John O'Hara, who played in goals for us a couple of seasons ago not play for Mayo at some stage.

I think he did a Chucky once and went in nets when Jelly Keenan was sent off.
Dessie Barry also lined out for the Town in his day. Adrian Murphy is back playing with Slashers.

I Think Ger Houlihan missed the FAI cup final due to it clashing with a GAA match.
He drove to Dublin that evening to get to the celebrations. I was on my way from the bar to the jacks and bumped into him on his way into the lobby.
He also gave Frankie van der Elst a rough night of it in the Showgrounds when Rovers played Bruges in the Cup Winners' Cup.

Met Adrian recently, he's not playing any ball at all as he has some kind of lung complaint. He's hoping to get back to soccer next year although that could have just been pub talk! Andy Moran of Mayo was on the books of LTFC for a few years. Martin Reilly played a couple of games for us then played GAA for Cavan. John Rogers of Roscommon also played for Town, I don't know if he was mentioned already. Also some Quinn fella who's from Longford plays for Bohs and is also on the Longford county minors.
Michael Quinn, County Minor alright and plays for Bohs. Did hear he had got a trial somewhere in England recently. Must find out more. Great player at both sports

Yeah I was chatting a lad at the Camlin v Ballycumber final game a few weeks
ago and he was saying Adrian had some complaint but wasnt sure exactly what was wrong!
Dessie Dolan senior, Westmeath and Athlone Town.
Micky McCann, Antrim and Athlone Town?
Its very debatable whether Micky McCann ever really played for Athlone
Super super Mick, Super super Mick McCann :o

Didn't see Dave Barrys (Cork/Cork City) name mentioned yet.
Dominic Foley (ex James Gate/ Bohs) played underage for Cork.
Wicklow keeper Mervyn Travers was on the books of Bray Wanderers a while back.
Richie Foran famously got in trouble for playing a GAA game when he was home from Carlisle.
Did Meath Keeper Brendan Murphy ever play LOI? was on the books of Wimbledon and some other English clubs.

Kildare goalkeeper, Tom Corley played a few games in goal for Kildare County a couple of years ago.
Captain Philly Gorman also turns out for his local side when he can although i don't think he ever made it to county level

He played against us and was fantastic
BTW, I don't think the Mick McCann who played for Athlone is the same Mick McCann who played for Antrim - Mick McCann played underage for Belvedere, his father has a Dublin accent
Declan Smyth played upfront for us for a good few years and played for and captained the Monaghan gaa team too. Going back a bit, Mickey Conlonplayed for United and the County. Not sure if either of the Slowey brothers Martin or Mickey ever played for United, both were talented footballers at both games. I think Colm McAree got a few run outs for the County seniors, but the less said about his spell with United the better.
Magicme has already mentioned Cian Mackey - now with Armagh City - plays for Cavan seniors and captained Ireland at U17 versus Australia. Vey very good footballer.
Did Ashley White ever get a Senior Co unty call up?

The Micky McCann that played for Antrim was with Athlone around Terry Evistons managerial reign. There was of course the other Micky McCann that you mention that was from Dublin.

Peter Whitnell, Down all irleand winner in 91 / 94 played with Dundalk. Also Stephen Staunton's older brother David played a fair bit with Louth seniors and made a couple of appearances for Dundalk I think also.
