I just think some teams always get the big decisions used to be shels now its Bohs. Bohs have had more pens this year than Derry had in the whole of last year. Weve had none in the league this year, but could have had 4 or 5

How many pens to Bohs have to get to win the league, bet its another dub ref
Good to see that Bohs have the opposition running scared, grabbing for any hackneyed conspiracy theory they can find in the gutter.
FTR: Tonight's referee at Dalymount was from Limerick - so stick that in your pipe and smoke it

Good result alright. Makes the non performance against Cobh the last day all the more frustrating.
Still with UCD winning we're further behind safety than we were.

Smoking one now thanks, think Bohs are probably the best team in the league, but a lot of decisions are going for them at the minute

Fair play to Chucky (Alan O'Riordan),normally a left back, he volunteered to play in goals and kept a clean sheet. We'd signed two keepers who turned out to be ineligible having played junior football this year apparently. His previous keeper experience was playing GAA as a young lad. Our first away win of the season.

Theyre not all as bad as McKeown the guy's a ****. Can anyone tell me why referee assessors are sent to games around the country take notes and guess what the standard never changes. The poor fool in Terryland tonight ran out of paper id say.
Edit: Since when did t wat become an expletive?

5 points- as it was before tonight's games.
Decent win for us tonight. Started to get on top towards end of first half, carried on in the second and deservedly took the lead. Harps didn't look too good going forward.

RE: Penos for Bohs.
Thats 5 this season already  . A QUARTER of their goals scored this season have been penos - thats a high percentage actually.
But have they made a difference to results? Well 3 of them have. Snatched a point against Bray, snatched a point against UCD. And a peno gave them all 3 points against Cork.
4 extra points on the board thanks to penos. Need all the help they can get mind, Byrne and Crowe are pash. :p

Peno gave them the win in Drogheda as well.

Wa'nt as good as you'd think, we should have won the game easily, Pat's had 3 chances in the first(no stand outs in the second) and scored two of them(both on the break) while we must have had 15 decent chances, a Leech chip towards the end skimming the post(been the stand-out)!!
See can we keep it up before getting my hopes up!!

I'd say the majority are Harps fans
You'd say wrong, but thanks for keeping the stereotypes alive.
Have they rescheduled an evening class to the Bowl or something.....?
We've been doing quite well up until this week; presumably a combination of not playing very well and everyone away for the bank holiday affected the crowd. Previous years have shown that Bank Holidays in the height of summer are very poor for crowds. Still a very poor crowd, even for us.

Well we certainly are going peno mad down Dalymount way. We were absolutely smiled on by the gods with our peno's against Bray and UDC. Our peno tonight was legit, Joxer transfered the ball from his right to his left foot as quick as you like and the defender caught his standing leg. Our peno against Drogs was also legit. Who was the other peno against?
Agree also with your point RE: Crowe and Byrne in terms of in front of goal, however Crowe has more times than not been in our top three players so far this season. Confidence seems to have deserted him though.

Hamdil'lah.
Four bottom teams, each won once over the last four weeks. Three of them away from home. Sounds great, but it's against each other. So while improving our points totals, any other benefits have to materialise.
Confidence seems to have deserted him though.
No need to worry, Rovers will be round to visit soon...;)

What on average is the amount of points that generally keeps a team up in 12 team league?

The big question for half the Division. I think 10th spot will have a hungry team getting a lot of points and pressing on lower mid-table something like 38 points.
The three teams going down is a big chunk from the Division and so points needed should be well above average.
In the past one point per game was borderline and more recently with the establishment of a lot of full-time squads the amount of points available for the smaller clubs is less again. Also in the past 10th spot was only play-off and the PD club was confident of taking the First Division team so there was less urgency some years to gain points. With the straight drop it will be everyman for himself among mid-table and below.

It would have been even sooner, if the postponed game had been re-arranged for BH Monday.
God only knows when it will be re-fixed.

Its not that we're not playing well, we're just not playing very nice football - unless you have a grá for Italian style, defend/counter attack stuff. Actually last night we were playing some decent stuff until we went one up but then reverted to type.

someone compared it to the way Drogheda played at times when they won the thing last year - play "ugly" football, but grind out the results

I reckon you'll need 8-9 wins anyway then a couple of draws!!
for the past few season the points needed to stay up would equal the amount of games played e.g. 33 games played, 33 ponts would have kept you safe. Because There is 3 going down this season I would say you woud have to maybe add on 8 to 10 point to that .

I don't think any of the bottom four are remotely good enough to get 40 points.
