When the shed was still standing, Rovers would usually opt to play into that end for the second period of the match. Playing into the home fans did sometimes help to "push" the ball over the line, so to speak. With the Shed now well and truly gone, should rovers opt to playing into the railway end for the second period. There is the terrace there, the singers congragate in the blue stand at that end, whereas the away fans sit at the church hill end. I would prefer it as I like sitting in the blue stand and like seeing rovers attacking action in the second half.
This of course is when rovers win the toss!;)

We don't miss it (no one wanted to go anyway) but the plans should be reviewed. The people who did occupy it, half of them don't go to games anymore.

It is an absolute disgrace that a club bar isn't being built there. We're missing out on a fortune and the excuse as to why we won't build one doesn't wash. We don't have the money to build now but when we do it should be a bar

100% in agreement. The biggest failing down the years.

Where are all the customers for this bar in the Showgrounds? There are four pubs within a five minute walk of the Showgrounds and some nights there are 3 or 4 customers in them. It would do a good trade an hour before a home game and maybe three hours after for around twenty games a year plus an odd 21st party but I think with insurance and other costs it wouldn't break even never mind make a fortune. I would like it if there was a clubhouse but I think financially they would be better off building a gym.

Knappagh Red, remove yourself from this board immediately. You are talking sense and that is not allowed.

Its a bit late in the day for a clubhouse now, it should have been built years ago. As Knappagh Road says and he makes a good point there is no one drinking in the localised pubs to the Showgrounds. This reflects on supporting the club as well, as years ago buses would be running from these pubs. The times are changing.

Football in this country has no real future.
Look at last night for a good example.
We visited the league leaders, a club rolling in wealth and we match them stride for stride. Yet we realise we are 2 or 3 good players short of being in for a shout for silverware. Bohs are top and probably deservately so but their support is p1ss poor. Alright they will say "sure we were only playing sligo" but that really doesn't hack it.
Pats came to us as league leaders last week with a very poor away support, where are all the loyal supporters?
Players are demanding higher and higher wages and the money simply isn't there any more. As I say there's no future for the game here. I think we should all go to John Kent's and buy an english club's jersey and join the rest of the 'real football supporters'.
It's the only way forward.
