View Full Version : The Club
Right I've been away from Ireland for a few years, I take it Dublin City is Home Farm renamed. Did this come about from all the financial problems a few seasons back. I used to play for the Leinster senior side and can remember the League Of Ireland side being a massive drain on the clubs resources. I take it this was the reason for the split.
AFAIK thats how it came about. You can read the history at

I don't think any of the first division teams make money, its a struggle to stay in and they hope to last long enough to go up. Home Farm is a schoolboy club and thats where their strenghts are. Their gettting good money of DCFC (rent & bar). Then money is going into young soccer , so its going to a good cause
Cheers really interesting link there, thanks for that.
