Glad to get a point. It's enough to stop the rot. Pity Rovers drew. Friday night will be interesting.
I was watching the Pats-Bohs game. Pats have flair and having seen them a few times this season I believe they are the best footballing side but Bohs are dogged and they dug deep to stop Pats. I still think Pats will win but Bohs will push em hard.
Another point I took from tonight's game, Alan Kelly is not as good as the FAI may think. He gave a terrible decision in the second half. Mark Rossiter jumped for the ball and Ryan Guy ran into him while he was in the air. Guy made no effort to jump and Rossiter was in the air when the collision happened. Somehow Kelly gave PATS the free!?!?

Good night for us. With other results we closed the gap between ourselves and first to four points and moved six clear of Cork. Drogheda having a shocker of a season so far. Still have reservations about us being able to go the full way this season but if we can beat Bohs or St. Pats (again) at home anything's possible.

The worst part seems to be we play really well and draw or lose. Then you get thinking well we played so we should beat so and so next game. Then we play average and don't win either. Lucky Sligo ****s.

Your player handled it inside the box, just because it came in the 92nd minute doesnt mean it was lucky!

What a disgraceful decision that penalty was. How could the linesman possibly make that call, when the ref, Connolly saw nothing wrong. Fitzgerald just fell over after Derek Foran's tackle. If you are going to give penalties for that there should be 10 or more in each game. Fuc*ing robbed.

bitter much, nothing unlucky about us getting a result up there,ye were very average in the showgrounds and you're strikers wouldn't hit a barn door so far this year, totally off form, what has happened to zayed!?
delighted to scrape the point though, last few seasons drogs away hasnt yielded much.couple of away games in a row and if we get a point off of bohs and a win against ramblers it would be fantastic.ironically i think bohs pitch will suit us better than our own

Nice for the coffers. Badley needed too I would say. €50000-60000 for the club :)

Def more than 4000, Derry had about 1200 - 1500 alone in attendance.
Badly needed income, we have no home game now 'til the 24th June against Bohs, thats alot of wages with no return in a month.
Great game of football, we were better team but didn't create enough chances, a draw prob best result but thats football.
Both Derry goals will be contenders for goal of the month and the second will be contender for goal of the season, absolute screamer out of nothing.

Fuc*ing robbed.
You were robbed? We hammered you for 3/4s of that match; you had one double shot on target in the first half and two in the second half and, while obviously fair play for scoring both the latter, it's a bit much to turn around and say you were robbed of the win. Thought youz got one point too many, to be honest.
Our first decent performance on the new pitch since the first day, and it seems to be improving week by week. If we can get a bit of home form going, we can start to get some results together as our home form is OK.

Tonight at the Harps game Peter Mc Girr from Limavady died as he was leaving the ground, he collapsed and died. Peter was approx. 82 years old, ex Head Master of St Mary's High School. Peter was a life long DCFC fan who followed DCFC around the country.
One of life's true gentlemen - he was a great supporter of the Derry city football club.
Season ticket holder, never missed even the most meaningless of friendlies and always bought every ticket I waved under his nose!
He bought club membership for all his children and grandchildren even though they were rarely in Derry.
Peter was always supportive and never moaned or bitched about the club, I often wished we had more like him.
RIP.

Ah yes, the 4-1 win which, in the words of someone here, you could have won by seven, despite MNS showing precisely two chances for each team outside the goals. Yup, it was chance after chance after chance after chance for youz.
Overstatement of the year  Notice 'no comment' on the penalty that robbed, yes robbed us of 2 points.I was the far end of the ground for the penalty. My first reaction was that I couldn't believe the ref hadn't given it. I don't buy into this nonsense about how the linesman can't give it - it was his side, he was in line with it and that's what he's there for if the ref misses something. To say that only the ref should make a call like that (a) assumes the ref is competent, which we've already seen is a big ask in itself and (b) is just nonsense.
I'll have to wait till I see it on telly obviously, but I thought it was a penalty.
Bray must be the luckiest team in the Premier this year - four goals at home, and four wins. Three attacks last night, and two goals. Your luck took a turn towards evening itself out last night. Dry your eyes.

Had a goal not given when O'Flynns header was clearly over the line but then the linesman on the Donie Forde has a nightmare overall, ref was excellent though.
Had most of the ball and chances but again failure to put away an inferior team costs us, the ultimate smash and grab.

great stuff altogetheri.:)
The ref was nothing special. i.e. nothing Rovers are unaccustomed to in Cork - they are the latest side to resort to hacking at Rice in particular and get away with it. The linesman in front of us was watching a different game to the rest of the ground too.
Only bit of football we played we scored from, but still those celebrations were worth all the crap. A late equaliser down in Cork and for Rovers for a change...the smile is still there this morning :)

I was at the game.
I can understand Sligo fans being happy their performance and getting a point. I can not understand Sligo fans saying they dominated the game and a draw was the least they deserved. Sligo could have won the game - if they created the chances.
Consider this: In the first half it was competitive. There were only a handful of half chances - none of which involved anything but the Sligo defence, Goalie and the Drogs attack. Drogs got a bit of luck when Byrne's shot on goal got a deflection and this gave the keeper no chance. Luck does come into it.
In the second half was much the same as the first but it moved towards a more open game. Sligo commited men forward and endevoured to create a few chances. They were restricted to a few shots from distance as the Drogs defence, led superbly by Jason Gavin, weathered their storm. Drogs had a number of counter attacks. However due to inabilities and weak points in our side we contrived to make the least of all of these.
In the two minutes of injury time Sligo went on a counter of their own. Down the right wing to the corner flag a Sligo player whips in a cross which hits Gavin's arm - a ball to arm scenario - granted though his arm was raised slightly. Ref sees it but doesn't seem convinced. Lineswomen eventually flags Peno, which Sligo miss, but scramble home the rebound. Full time.
This was the game that was played at United Park last night.
On Zayed: He's been off form since the season started. He is also as useful as a stripper at at braille convention as the "1" in a 4-5-1 formation.
All is not well.

From your own report:
- Bray started marginally the stronger; Alan Cawley had a free well over from a dangerous area,
- Derek Pender had a goal ruled out for offside within the opening ten minutes
- and only defensive heroics prevented an immediate equaliser. First Matt Gregg made a stunning save from Ger Rowe before Alan McNally somehow deflected the rebound over the bar with his keeper still on the ground
- Three minutes later, Pat Kavanagh curled home for Bray, but the flag had long gone up for offside
- Bray duly equalised on 62 with their first attack of the half. Sub Onwubiko, only on the pitch two minutes, hassled Conor Kenna into conceding a corner; the set piece was delievered deep to the back post, where Derek Foran was on hand to blast home.
- Bray took the lead with their next chance on 76; again, it came from a corner, with Gavin Whelan taking advantage of remarkably slack UCD defending to glance home a near post header completely unopposed.

I was being kind to you. Goals disallowed when the flag had long gone up don't really count as attacks, and neither do frees ballooned over. You had three really good chances and scored two. We had lots, and screwed up (lots-2)
Don't know who does the reports on extratime.ie, but the reporter there said about the penalty "Amazingly, referee Connolly saw nothing wrong with the challenge", while the Irish Times said we "peppered" the Bray goal with shots.

- he found Derek Doyle in the box, but the retreating Bray defence had enough time to cover and clear.
not one of which actually threatened the goal.

Course they do. For starters, the ball was still in play when the incident happened, which is a fairly major part of an attack. Plus, Bray had to defend them well, as opposed to us having to watch the ball balloon way over. Would have thought that was straight forward enough to understand.
