we need an experienced player , greg o halloran is tied up what is happening with colin o brien he isnt playing for city is he a free agent

what about all the talk of investors . at the mo people are sceptical about pros and cons to everything , why dont the people who are so interested in investing prove to the club they are what they say they are by stumping up for the wages of a striker maybe a free transfer player from england or somewhere , they can help get club out of hole and can prove they have the clubs best interests at heart which may in turn smooth the way for investing in club in the future

Simple really.

We need one if not two decent strikers and an experienced head like Coin O'Brien or Greg O'Halloran.
What we have isn't good enough to survive and the team needs to be shaken up.

Brian McCarthy is a great player with excellent ability but lets face it, we don't need him. We didn't need another defender, for a club with supposed crippling financial problems we wasted our money on a player we don't need. What we need is a striker and we need one NOW!

I'm not sure we need an experienced midfield player or a defender, what we need is someone who is ruthless in front of goal, that's all that is wrong IMO. I thought Bohs were great in the first half but we were great in the 2nd.
Why doesn't alan Carey take penalty's anymore???

bellavistaman
11/05/2008, 8:48 PM
this penalties thing is a joke, supporters saying why doesnt jim, joe ,bob, take it only the player can we decide obviously carey, reilly and davin dont want them due to misses last year and confidence. Only the players can pick themselves, alan carey missed a massive one in harps and i seen him in the hotel after he was shattered over it, and obviously isnt confident, when reilly starts scoring again, he'll want it, when players are in bad form they wont want a peno.

we need a midfielder like alan kearney who can play the killer ball to the striker not just a ball over the top all the time. and we need a striker. And will some one tell me what the hell is going on with the commitee are they fighting between them selves again, just when our great club is moving forward they start their bickering and try to drag us down again.

At least us fans can be positive i think with a little bit of luck and without being too critical of the team cause we all know they are class we need to be more clinical in front of goal and we might just do what they all think is impossible and stay in this division where we belong. but no matter what happens we still love d rams.

we dont really need a striker, what we need is for our strikers to do what strikers do, kick the god damn ball into the back of the ****ing net

this is there concern on the pitch i dont care how the bloody thing gets there just get it there, what we need is a strker coach if such a person exists, get sniffer and the lads up for a bit of traing show em hows it done,

without harping on about finances but if your players wages are being messed with it doesn't exactly make for a happy dressing room. But i see where your coming from theres no point in rocking the boat lets let our support on match nights help the players to get the results they deserve for all their hard work

what the players need is support, crowds coming out for games have been appaling, 1,100 for Bohemians, shocking. Certain supposed fans of the club need to get behind the team not dish out nonsense abuse to the players and staff.Lets put it in context, we were beaten 1-0 against one of the richest clubs in the country, they were able to leave Jason Byrne on the bench. Were all saying squad needs to be strengthened but how can this be done if the crowds arent coming through the gate to pay the players wages

how does any club do this,
they do it by getting into depth,

the squad is fine, could do with a tweak, main problem is scoring, reilly is capable but doesnt seem to have the touch as of late, reilly, davin and cambridge would wanna step it up, the fans are (well at the ones at the top of the stand) roaring them on all the time, no one there is givin stick, but the team just has to use there heads, sure it looks good finding your way past 3 players and scoring, but its equally effective useing the wings and crossing it in, which being honest isnt how it been done, there constantly trying to take on players and are losing the ball to frequently,

like i said before, it great playin football, but results will be remebered more than the way we played,

It's someone like Colin O'Brien we need.
The last thing we need is another young player with little Premier Division experience.

theres a lot of rumours at the moment, i wouldnt pay much attention to them. the wage thing i dont understand and wouldnt really beleive as the crowds are more than covering them, and theres also the huge sponsorship among other things. theres loads of rumours ranging fropm money talk to hendo losing the dressing room, to davy hill coming back etc etc. i wouldnt believe these stories at all.

thats just usual rumour mill stuff, im confident that the lads will be ok. they have played everyone once after the derry game so they know what to expect in the next 2 phases or 2/3rds of the season.

I'm fairly certain the lads are up to the task of staying up. Defensively, conceding 12 goals in 10 games is not relegation material. If they can just find their shooting boots a few more points will come. The forwards are capable of scoring goals in the Premier Division, it's just unfortunate for us that they have chosen now to go off the boil as it was very important to get off to a good start and get the confidence going.

If they can nick one or two goals in the next couple of games it may just be the break that they need.

the crowds so far have been poor ,tbh i dont think they would of covered
last years wage bill never mind anything extra they might of got in their new contracts

they made enough from the city game to pay the wages for up to 10 weeks, and even if they got 1000 for each of the other 4 home games which they definitely did that would be another 50-60k. the costs are 6k a week. and also the massive sponsorship 90k!!!

the crowds arnt huge but they're not bad. and also last year the club at least broke even, thats a fact. so last years expenses are gone and dont come into it. what does come into it though is the debt from the seasons before last years winning season. i dont know how much its costing to maintain that debt, so that could be the stickler/cause of problems.

from the 6k a week figure they would need to be making 12k euro per home game, thats around 1000 people in d gate per game.there is also money made from programme sales, programme sponsorship/ads, match sponsors, pitchside adverts, players sponsors. and also merchandise which is selling at a huge rate, i thought id never see the day when theres so many people especially kids wearing ramblers kits and other things like ramblers jackets.

but on another positive note, if that can be said about debt, in the overall scheme of things that debt is tiny. i know people will disagree but the fact is most individuals in this country of ours are in bigger debt by just buying a house. the debt as far as i know is less than a typical irish house price,250-300k. when u conssider rams to have up to 200/300 members thats not a problem.
id have no problem, chipping into a rovers type thing where each member pays 40 per month, thats 480 per annum per member, by 200people is nearly 100 k.

the things is , not many people make money in football. crazy as it sounds, its true. sure english clubs are huge and they are being crippled by the costs that are required to maintain a club, the higher the level the higher the costs.

true, agree totally. its easy for people to get negative at this time but we have to keep the faith. just as u pointed out its only when you analyse the football figures we're doing quiet well. also 6 of them 12 were conceeded in 2 games away from home, drogs and sligo. so that makes it only 6 goals in 8 gameswe have conceeded when them 2 games are ommited.:D

roumour and speculation if its 12000 thats 550 for each player (22 players), average, that means poeple are earning above the average so would be on 7-800 a week, if players are on this i will be at training thursday to kneecap them, i understand paying full time players 700 a week, but not part time, no way,
