2-2 draw. Hopefully we'l score in the 1st half. I couldn't stand another scoreless first half.
It all depends on suspensions and injurys and i mean on both sides, our home record will be tested once again but this should and will be the real deal...(seen as everyone seems to be beating rovers our scalp doesnt seem so big now)..looking forward to seeing our new signing and hopefully the game gets the build up it deserves we"re waitin far too long for games like this, sorry now but im goin for 2-1 Bohs i hope im wrong!!

I'll take a point from this one. It's been said we need 12 points from each cycle of games, but looking at the home/away arrangement for the season, I'd settle for 9 or 10 points from this first set (with 15 from the second and 12 from the third).
I think the most important thing for Saturday is a goal or three, preferably starting in the first half. We simply won't stay up if we keep going like this up until the transfer window, or beyond if Hendo can't find/afford a decent enough striker.
Got to get the monkey off our back and the chip off our shoulder, time for someone to step up to the plate. (Can't think of any other suitable chichés right now...)

Who would ye start:
Bilko
Carey Guthrie Murray Meade
Mikey J.Kearney B McCarthy Mucky Davin
Reilly or Dub
ramsfan
08/05/2008, 8:02 PM
that would be a solid team, mccarthy might add a bit of stell to midfield which is badly needed
Bilko
same back four
cambrige -b.mc carthy -j.kearney-dav
reilly
Think reilly has to be played its the only way he can get some form back, not to sure bout my central midfield pairing they are both left footed i believe.

It's time Hendo started starting Kenny Coleman. It's a crime that the best footballing brain in Ramblers has to sit on the bench.

Ah Hendos too old to play r14!!!
I dont think Coleman should start meself, dont think hes fit enough watched them training tonight and dont think he has the match sharpness, or the fitness to work his balls off, which will be required from every player against a team the calibure of bohs.

He's a tough tackler who can pass the ball yet he's never given a chance in his true position. I'd love to see him get a chance at centre-mid.

hes not a tough tackler, he was there last year and played very well. But the pace of the game was a million times slower, if he gets fitter loses bit of wieght then he;ll be a serious contender to start

In the games he's played this year he has been one our best players. He has a great ability to read the games. His fitness has improved dramatically.
All i'm saying is, that he at least deserves a start in centre-mid and now is as good a time as any.

Back to near full strength, Cobh Ramblers go into the game at St.Colman’s Park against Bohemians, with their confidence high after their defeat to Bray Wanderers last Friday night 2-5-2008
Cobh Ramblers having acquitted themselves well during training this week, go into the game looking for their second home win of the season. Rambler’s impressive home record continues, giving Manager Stephen Henderson and his team great confidence of a win at St Colman’s Park on Saturday 10th May.
Stephen Henderson “Our Home record continues to grow and losing that record to my former local team is not an option, no matter what resources Bohs have available to them.”
“Make no mistake about it we are a very good side and I know I am repeating myself but the results are not a true reflection of how we have played this year. We truly have had no luck this year and I genuinely feel our luck is about to Change”
Brian McCarthy & Alan Carey are out injured, with Graham Cummins and Shane Barrett suspended for Saturday nights game.

ya chances have to be taken. bohs have more awat points than anyone else in the league. it also said on extratime.ie that they havnt scored from play in the league in a while, all set pieces.

10/05/2008, 2:43 PM
if it is from set pieces we should be ok our back four is solid, cummins is a huge loss tonight, barrett being out means hendo will have to shake things , who will start in midfield ?

Bilko
Carey Guthrie Murray Meade
Mucky J.Kearney Coleman Lally
Reilly Davin
I had to revise my team as Brain McCarthy is out.
Lally will probably come in at left-mid and Davin will probably move upfront.
If not that then:
Bilko
Carey Guthrie Murray Meade
Cambridge J.Kearney Coleman Mucky Davin
Reilly
Is Alan Kearney injured? Thought he was quality against Rovers

Outstanding second half, players showed loads of heart and passion. Carey was MOTM IMO, outstanding, bloody penos again. Bohs were a joy to watch in first half, but by god fenlon knows he got out of jail tonight, Crowd was terrible too
Carey was MOTM IMO,
Carey was at fault for the goal though?
Tucked in too far and misjudged the ball to Brennan
unlucky by all accounts tonight Cobh fans. Was watching the live text updates and they were all praise for your second half performance. Really hope you stay up.
Same old. Same old. Just can't put the chances away. I'd have settled for a draw though and as R14 says, Pat Fenlon used up his 'Get out of Jail Free' card last night. This really isn't a good season so far and I'd have hoped we would at least by this stage have bagged at least 12 points. Chances. Chances. Chances. Gone. Gone. Gone. It's all great about the lads putting in great preformances etc etc like the second half, but lads, great performances don't get the points unless we win the games and we can only live on the 'fair dues though, they played well' excuse for so long I'm afraid. We desperately need results. Six from 30 isn't at all good. We need to get behind Henderson and the lads a bit more. He's a very clever Manager and he can't be blamed for any of this though as he's fielding the best team we have, but they just can't make those nets rattle. I'm getting tierd of hearing how unlucky we were and luck isn't going our way, or the Ref was on their side etc etc. Simple. Results = Points and we need POINTS and a Striker or two.

Good to get an unbiased honest comment from a Bohs fan. True, we were rather unlucky and the second half should have given us something other than the usual missed opportunities. We play good intelligent football but need to put all those chances away to stay up.

Rams were poor in the first half but excellent in the second. Should have at least taken a point- will be really disappointed that they didnt.
Penalty was poor and a couple of other chances went a-begging.
But the team has shown they can compete with the likes of Bohs and Rovers, a finisher in the summer window will do ye the world of good
ramsfan

big time we need a finisher , i will have to avoid mns this week and i really cant listen to redfm and hendo saying we are a good team, really it isnt his fault we need more quality but we cant as luka says keep going through the season saying if only and we played etc we need points i would rather play sh1t and win than play great footbal and lose , great footbal wont keep us up points will

Thats 4 points penalties have cost us. If we'd have put away those penalties we'd now be 4th last and out of the relegation zone!
We have to face that some of our players just arn't up to the pace of the Premier Division.
It pains me to say it but the likes of John Meade, John Kearney and Davin are playing every week and are constantly being given the run around by the opposition.
Kenny Coleman came in to the side and was breath of fresh air, he ran his legs off and played the two Bohs centre-mids out of the game so much so they had to be substituted.
We need 2 strikers in the transfer window who can score goals. Reilly was forced out of the game tonight and our only option was Gareth Cambridge! A winger.
But the one thing were really missing is a figurehead of experience. Someones who's been there won it all and has the t-shirt to prove it.
Hendo has a policy of signing young players which has to be scrapped. We need an old head in the team. A voice of experience. This player wouldn't even have to kick a ball he'd just have to talk to the players because from what i've seen Ramblers are too young for the Premier Divison. Someone of Greg O'Hallorans stature. If you look at the top teams they all have "older" players.
Derry have Hutton, Bohs have Heary, Drogheda have Grant,etc......
If we don't get 4 points from our next 3 games were gone. Simple as that we need to start winning and we need to start taking our chances NOW!
Rant over!
P.S- Ref and his assistants were useless.
Have to say I thought Meade was excellent last night

Exactly. They need to start flying in to challenges from what i've seen so far there is very little commitment out there. Only a few have given a 100% in every game and to be honest a few is not good enough for Premier League standard.

but still we lead back to missed chances which are killing, luck is a thing we make ourselves, we still looka bit naive when it comes to prem football, bohs know when to go down, when to stand over frees when to take them quick and if you watched there centre halves they know how to get the little nudges to knock you off balance before the ball arrives and ref sees also for big men they know how to fall, i suppose you really say we are alittle to honest for this league:ball:

Thats were signing an experienced older player who has been there and done it all comes in.
What you've just described ramsfan is the naivity of having such a young team, doing what you've just described above is not in their game.

well to survive they would want to start learning quickly, but we have to be wary here this forum can not turn into a team bashing place , because the manager and team are the best for the budget available to them, we are struggling a little as we lack some quality and a bit more experience, this is not the teams fault ok i describe stuff i didnt like above but i think that stems from a lack of confidence and nothing else , the committee need to find some dough and quick beacause we will need to be quick off the mark in july to survive
