Crazy decision by the new City owner. Leaves the way open for Richard Dunne, to head to Newcastle.

That's what happens when your club is owned by a murderer I guess

where is that thread from earlier on in the season when most people were proclaiming him to be the new PL messiah? Elano hasn't turned up since October. Football is a funny old game......

The point is that Sven has done well with City this season and is still getting the sack!

He's done ok, great up to xmas and poor post xmas so if you average the two parts up he has been steady.
I think it is harsh to be giving him the boot but if Frank Sinatra as the City fans call him doesn't thrust him with his loot then he has to look elsewhere. Big Phil will be working in England after all by the looks of it.

This one? (http://foot.ie/showthread.php?t=65023&highlight=eriksson)
I'm surprised he's getting the sack. He's taken them on leaps and bounds this season, compared to last season. He's brought in plenty of players but then again so did Keane, Sanchez/Hodgson and Curbishley. Man City did a lot better than those sides.
Jaysis, Gillett and Hicks look like the right decision now.

Crazy decision. I can see their owner getting bored eventually and City ending up in a Leeds situation.

It's getting even crazier. Eriksson seems certain to go ater just one season even when they could still qualify for Europe (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/7392552.stm).

Nope, Man City have in fact qualified for the UEFA Cup next season. What will Thaksin do now?

It's been made official today. (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_3640084,00.html)
I'm a Man Utd fan but even I think that the situation at Man City is a farce. Sven comes in and transforms the team and leads them to their best league finish in years and yet he gets the sack.
Nobody is guaranteed immediate success, no matter how much money you have. Obviously Thaksin Shinawatra hasn't a clue about football.
Apparently Mark Hughes (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3640405,00.html) is favourite for the job!!! I hope he doesn't get it because it will be a terrible move for him, especially seeing as most United fans want him to take over when Ferguson leaves.

Huges is also heavily tipped for Chelsea & also has been linked with Celtic should Strachan go. Basically hes done a great job at Blackburn and will be linked with any possible job should it be a step up from Blackburn - though Im not sure that City would be - yes its got the fan base and potential I suppose but it hasnt got the stability of Blackburn.
Sven officially has the Mexico job, so I guess he knows who Chelsea want for their new manager. Could be Hughes after Ancelotti has now ruled himself out as well

I'd be surprised if Hughes got the Chelsea gig. If you have all the money in the world to choose a manager, I am not sure Hughes would be in the Top 30 but then again neither would Grant.
Sven didn't take long to find himself a job. From Manchester to Mexico in a couple of weeks.
