An improved showing from striker Jason Byrne in front of goal produced the goods for the league leaders at Turner's Cross tonight. His first after just three minutes came from a long ball over the top from defender Kevin Doherty. [B]Ger McCarthy took it down and squared it for Jason Byrne to slam home to the City net from just inside the penalty area[B]. Cork did have their chances, with George O'Callaghan and John O'Flynn going closest before Byrne rounded off the night with his second on 72 minutes.
