Novice comment if ever i saw one. How long have you been watching football. Jinxed! 2-2.

I was keeping a low profile hoping that one would go unchecked. Still quietly confident - there I go again.

Whinging on Galway FM about Cawley 'stealing' 25 yards with the free kick.

Classic comment 'We didn't have time to get a man on the goal line for that free'

1-1 at Ferrycarrig Park. At HT I thought Longford were the best passing side to come here, kinda fell away in the 2nd. Joey Wadding got the red for being last man on a through ball with our keeper stranded off his line. Not malicious, just missed the tackle that he had to make. Fair result in the end.

Going to start a new thread to rival best food at a LOI ground on the subject of 'Windiest pitch in the LOI'. We'll win that one for sure

I was at your match last week and I have to admit it was awesome. I would be very surprised if Sligo missed out on a Euro spot at the end of the season. Intertoto at least with squad you have.

Mind you Bohs will win the league.

You are right Marty, Harps are in trouble and we look a shadow of the team that was playing so well last year.Good crowd down from Sligo who deserved their win.

Decent game tonight at Dalymount. First half was even enough but Derry were a different side in the second half, went up a gear. Only a handful of clear cut chances but Derry deserved more than the point they got.

To be honest, Basil Brush could have kept goal for Sligo tonight and still wouldn't have been troubled by a very poor Harps team.

Sligo seemed to have scored a good goal, the ref give it but then it was flagged by the Donegal linesman on the near side. ;)

Whinging on Galway FM about Cawley 'stealing' 25 yards with the free kick.
Pardon my French, but they were talking ar*e. He might have moved the ball 5 or 6 yards on, but there was so much moaning about it, United would have had time to change their kit before Cawley took the free kick. We lost not because he moed the ball on, but because we can't defend to save our lives.
Lester was ordered to move a free about 15 yards back in the first half, but as soon as ref turned his back to took it from advanced position and no one complained.
Bray should have had game wrapped up long before they did. We're goosed.

referee signalled for a goal. but the linesman who was further away from the incident raised the flag for a foul. i was talkin to a few harps fans after the game who could not see anything wrong with the goal. unusual to see a linesman go against the referee ! just glad it didnt change the result

where was the lnesman from?

Given the options of Shels or Bohs to go to, I thought the game at Tolka was very entertaining. Waterford took the game to Shels and always in doubt until Shels finally ended it.

Waterford's right winger and substitute centre-half stood out in particular. Some glaring misses from great crosses in the second half.

Hard to say actually!!!! Both goals were on the break and probably two of only three or four real chances ye had. Then again we didn't have too many ourselves. We started the better team but then ye scored against the run of play and Gamble was sent off. Uphill for us from then on obviously. Baker, I thought had a very good first half but seemed to disappear a bit in the second. Your defence were excellent and just soaked it all up all night. Not a bother to them. Gartland was very good attacking the ball but sent a few astray at times. You also broke very well and Ollie played very well.

I can't really fault our players tonight, they showed great spirit for the most part and really tried to get back into it. The second goal was a real sucker punch tho' and effectively ended it.

The only gripe I could have with Drogs/Doolin tonight is leaving Grant up front more or less on his own for most of the night -- against ten men!! Is positivity a dirty word in Drogheda??? You have some of the best players in the league but they appear to have a 'don't lose at all costs' mentality drilled into them which appears to stifle their individual creativity to ridiculous levels. They never seem to enjoy playing - even when they're winning.

We are pish, Sligo are an average team but they still coasted to victory. Almeida is class at the back, got away from Stuart Malcom (joke of a player) too easily and had a free header at the near post.
It was def a free out, Gallagher had 2 hands on the ball therefore in control of the ball. I was right behind the goals for it.
We have at least 4 players who wouldn't get in last seasons team.

It's true we have a cautious style. Being two up away from home and then changing formation to some less cautious style of play will mean you draw matches like that more than you win. The players not looking happy to you during the game is of no consequence. The end is what's important to them.

Well we had 10 men for 70 minutes...so we were crap.

We gifted ye both goals(pretty sure the first was an og) and the second was a poor pass which was intercepted.

We didnt really have a hope once Joe was sent off though.

Ye made very good use of the extra man. We had to go and attack so Im surprised ye didnt score more

James Gallagher, Sean Roddy, Staurt Malcom and Gerry Gill.
It would be much easier and take less time to type out the players that played well for us last night, um, ah, well, ok there was none.

Drogs were class last night. Sure the sending off made a difference but I'd say we would have won even without it. We were well up for it, played class passing football and played the right formation. It was a 4-3-3 formation when attacking - Baker and O'Keefe were pushed way up the field most of the time. Tbh I was dissapointed we didn't score more. We could have quite easily won 5-0!

Class? Honestly? You score a goal against the run of play, then score another goal when a team down to ten men is pushing forward to score, and then sit back, and thats class? At one point after the second goal the entirety of your team was on the edge of your box. You played the game well but it devalues the word class if you win in a situation you'd be expected to, in the way you'd be expected to.

Congrats on the win, but class it was not. If we're going down the road of could haves and should haves, we could have drawn level. In the real world, not every chance you get is converted.

So true - if you classify Cork as a lesser team

When we've got only 10 men on the field? Sure, doubly so if that player is Joe Gamble. Idiot though he may be, with him on the field we would've swept aside your little blip and continued playing the way we were, all over you.
