In the Question Time section of today's Independent, the first question reads:

Who are the holders of the Eircom League title?

The answer, according to them, is of course.......Shelbourne

i really think the forums should start up its own media group with exclusive media right to the league, as these morons are, well, morons, same with limerick 37 there a week or two ago, some idiot on teh rodio said they got there name as there were 37 founding members:eek:, tools

In fairness, the great Emmet Malone got his facts wrong the other day when talking about Chelsea and the Champions League. It's not just the eircom league that suffers from inaccurate reporting.

Maybe it was a trick question. Shelbourne were the last winners of the eircom League before it was re-branded as the eircom League of Ireland last season. It was a new competition (as Galway fans should know ;) )last season, not a continuation of the old league.

Don't think the Indo are smart enough to pull that off.

Also in the "In off the post " column, Donnchadh Boyle claims that St. Pats have only one fit keeper Ryan Barry!! It's not as if nobody ever heard of Barry Ryan :D

Yeah, but most barstoolers only rely on the Irish media so they dont know any better. We are all involved in the league, and most probably know more than them and see exactly how poor they are.

Simple Solution lads - Stop buying these papers, they are pathetic, I wonder how many articles about foreign football bought from The Guardian or The Telegraph appeared in the same paper.

The amount of media coverage that our home league gets is very small and poor at that. Last week when Rovers hosted The Bowezzzzz the Herald am said that it was in dalymount as did Fm 104. I wonder did any non eircom league fans turn up in Dalymount to catch the dublin derby only to be dissapointed?
