View Full Version : Dublin City manager banned for 3 months
3 Month ban for John Gill & 4 weeks for Robbie Horgan is mad, for what was little more than handbags at ten paces. I've never heard of anyone getting that type of ban before.

Blimey...I can kind of understand Gill's punishment, as a means of discouraging other managers from getting involved in on-field fisticuffs (although it only happened because the tackle took place right in front of the bench) but three months is a bit harsh, as is Horgan's ban for a not-outrageously-violent incident.
Ringo, for the second time in 24 hours, could you please post Dublin City issues in the Dublin City section.
Thanks.
OTT IMHO, their was more than him involved I think?
What's he going to do now?
only saw it on TV but I think the league were right to what they did. Managers shouldn't behave like that, and what the hell was a goalkeeper doing on the halfway line anyway? He came up and joined the fray so he can have no complaints
My complaint was that Gill Got 3 months while The Sligo manager got two weeks. While this sort of behaviour is unacceptable, 3 months is far to extreme.

Sure he'll just stand behind the wall instead of in the dugout, it'll have very little effect

I wonder did the Sligo No. 14 get any ban? He caused all the bother and then fell to ground twice like he'd been shot after a slight push. Maybe he just a bit frail.
It does seem strange to give different bans to each manager.

Gill behaved like a scumbag...a manager attempting a head-butt during a game....the actions of a coward. A foul mouthed, ignorant coward at that. I mean, just take a look at him, and listen to the knacker tones that pour out of his gob. He deserves everything he gets!!!

Good man Joe. Nothing like setting up a bit of needle before a big game. :)
Gill was angry after the tackle on Mc Cawley and Don O'Riordan going over to to Mc Cawley, kicking him and telling him to get up, all of which , was not seen on the video. No one got head butted, no one recieved any injuries . Although some should have got oscars. Someone from the dirtiest scum ridden county in Ireland where they kill each other on a daily basis, try to take the moral high ground , is a joke. You'll get your answer on Thursday, a handy three points for DCFC:p

Oooooooh!!! Put your knickers back on Ringo....you obviously haven't got the hang of what the usual banter on this board is yet....no harm meant.......but, with you coming from the undisputed drug capital of europe, where more people are murdered on an average weekly basis than anywhere in the country, a far greater per capita crime level than Limerick, and basically a slum, I don't expect anything else.....but you'll get the hang of it.
Leave the knives at the turnstiles; you can collect them on the way out. Segregation will be in force. Not between the Limerick & City fans, But between the Limerick fans themselves. Keane’s on one goal end & Ryan’s at the other.:p
