Athlone Town boss Jimmy Greene is hoping that history will repeat itself when the Midlanders take on fellow First Division side Bray Wanderers in the Carlsberg FAI Cup second round tie at the Carlisle Grounds (Kick off 7:45).

"We have had just one win in 15 league games this season when we beat Bray 2-0 at St. Mels Park earlier in the season. Apart from long term injury absentee Eric Molloy with his ankle injury, I will be selecting from the same panel as were a little unlucky to lose 1-0 at home to Dundalk last week," said Greene.

With Bray boss Pat Devlin tied up for the last week in concluding the Damien Duff transfer from Blackburn Rovers to Chelsea, his assistant Tony McGuirk has been taking charge of preparations for the Athlone show-down.

Winger Paul Forsyth and midfielder Eddie Gormley should pass late fitness tests on respective groin and hamstring injuries. But central defender Jody Lynch is rated in the 'doubtful' category after suffering an ankle injury in last week's 2-0 league victory over Galway United.
