View Full Version : Cup draws

Why have the draws for the junior, intermediate and underage cups not been forwarded to clubs. Have the draws even been done yet?
Some are due to be played on May 5th, which is just over 2 weeks away.
This is unfair on teams who have to plan for away games; hiring a bus etc.
Also why are the draws from start to finals not made as they used to be. It was good to know which teams were in your half of the draw and where you might be going. Think of the extra expense involved at making draws after each round when it could all be done at once.
When exactly does the WFAI intend notifying clubs of the games on May 5th?
It gets more frustrating every year.

think in the munster section of the Intermediate cup, be two very good games. Us having played Nenagh twice before in this comp and both teams having taking a win each in what were both very close games. Having said that, heard recently that Nenagh have fallen apart so hopefully we should go through.
Carrigaline and Mungret should also be another good game. Was a very tight game between the two last yr with Mungret winning it by just one goal that i think came in the dying mins.

Think mungret and nenagh will advance to the next round.Munster section looks handy with a lot of good clubs taking the easy option and going into the junior cup which now looks like a tough place to be.Newtown fc should be good enough to advance in the jnr.

Ramblers beat Nenagh 2-1. Should of have been alot more for Rams, were well on top in the first half and were rewarded by being 2 up going into half time. ended up making it hard work for ourselves in second half, Nenagh scored a soft goal but then started to get some fight in them. Overall was pretty good game.
Also Mungret also through to next round having beat Carrigaline 4-2.

ya we played lakewood they beat us 4-1 but doesnt reflect game. close game up till about 70th min, we took the lead and then they got 3 quick goals after that we seemed just to give up and almost stop playing, Lakewood do have very strong team this year, tipping them to reach semi or final and they should defo win the munster cup and hopefully the Cork league there top of the table and unbeaten

Where has the improvement come from in Lakewood? Have they signed new players in the closed season?
ramladies
25/06/2008, 9:29 AM
They've a few players back like there centre mid shes a mexican international i think it is, shes been missing for the last couple of seasons. She runs the show for them everything goes through her like Cora Stanton from K&K. They've also brought up a few from there underage set up the likes of Amy Mc Carthy and Yvonne Cahill, who both have played for Ireland under 17 and they can certainly hold their own at senior level.

just have to say seing as you mentioned bout games being postponed they have been in past like ours last yr when K&K were playin in Europe or playin a GAA match watever it was, FAI will bend the rules for certain things. Suppose its just who your club knows thats in power. Seems typical dat FAI would make mistake like this esp as its so namely called FAI under 16 cup.Think they act like they care but dont in the end.
Must say congrats tho to both Cork girls who made the team,
Must say Yvonne Cahill is a absolute pleasure to watch playing ball not nice playing against her have experienced it hoping to see great things from this young girl in years to come and shes has the advantage dat she can play back or midfield. Hope to see this girl come through the ranks of the womans teams and not fade into nothing like so many before.
