League Cup runners-up should have first refusal on the extra UEFA Cup spot. It would be wasted on the sliding scale Premier Division clubs.

Not league cup winners no?

A UEFA Cup spot for the League Cup winner would make clubs take it more seriously and save the competition from extinction. It'd be a good call. Will Northern Ireland be getting a UEFA Cup spot to replace their Intertoto one too?

Not league cup winners no?No sense in having Derry qualifying every year.
