Dont know if this (http://www.fais.ie/news/34/jubilant-celebrations-in-the-stadium-of-light/) has been posted already.

England 0-1 Republic of Ireland

The Republic of Ireland FAI Schools team got the victory they needed at the Stadium of Light on Friday night against England to capture the Centenary Shield.

John Mulroy of Moyle Park College Clondalkin scored the only goal of the contest on 39 minutes with a penalty goal after he was fouled inside the box.

It was the fourth goal of the campaign for the striker, who plays his club football for Bray Wanderers in the eircom League of Ireland Premier Division.

The Irish concluded the four-game series undefeated on ten points after beating Wales, Northern Ireland and England as well as drawing with Scotland.

England required victory against Ireland at Sunderland’s ground to seize the initiative in the group but they won’t be able to catch Sean Carr’s side even if they win their final fixture in the pool against Scotland at Wembley Stadium next Saturday.

The Republic's victory in the Centenary Shield was an all round team performance. Sean Carr, Manager stated "all 20 players contributed to this year's success and I'm very proud of the effort and commitment of the lads over the course of the campaign".

Ireland Squad: Mark McGinley (PCC Falcarragh, Letterkenny), David Webster (Templeogue College), Peter Acheson (Rockwell College, Cashel), Gary Murphy (Oatlands College, Stillorgan), Philip Knight (Clonkeen College, Blackrock) Declan Edwards (Blackrock College) Jack Flynn (Belvedere College), Sean Houston (St. Eunan's Letterkenny), Philip Hand (Chanel College, Dublin), John Mulroy (Moyle Park College, Clondalkin), Shane Clarke (Limerick CBS), Jake Kelly (St. Laurance College), Jason Hughes (Limerick CBS), Patrick Madden (Chanel College), Brian Collopy (Limerick CBS), Kevin Barry (Limerick CBS), Oisin McMenamin (St. Eunan's College, Letterkenny), Gerard Cheevers (St. Mary's College, Galway), Robert Creevy (Salesian College, Celbridge), Mark O'Reilly (Chanel College, Dublin).

Another good news story for Irish under age football and all the better for the fact that it pis*es on the England parade at their showcase next week at Wembley Stadium against Scotland.
