Next three games,
Harps - Home
Drogs - Home
Pats - Away
I think 5 points here is very manageable. I think we have to be Harps, thats a must but if we drew with both Pats and Drogs, or won one of them then i'd be happy with that.
Prediction (hopeful)
2:0
2:1
1:1

I think we can beat Harps and Drogheda.
Take a draw in Syrinchicore.

I recken we can win all 3 games. No reason why we can't. One game at a time tho.

We have not beaten anyone of any consequence yet, and dropped points in games we really shouldn't have. Beating Harps will tell nothing again, it is in the Drogs and Pats game where we will find out where we are.
I have no doubt but we will lose the latter two, and beat Harps unconvincingly. But hey, we will still be unbeaten tomorrow night, and the cracks will be papered over for a small bit longer again. That being said, the team can only beat who is put in front of them.
Hope I'm proven wrong.

I think it'll be a different series of events to be honest. They always seems to raise their game for bigger clubs and do fairly well. Its the smaller games where they just dont put in the effort, as if they lose interest.
The earlier games as well, the team we're gellling, new manager and trying to play players out of position etc. all help in those draws. And truth be told we still haven't got out of second gear. If we start to play as well as we could then we could be doing very well.
The glass is half full here i'm afraid

Half full is good I thought
Thats all well and good A Face, but your post is full of ifs, maybes and coulds.
Time will tell I guess. 6 or more points from the next 3 games will be great. 9 will be fantastic.

Well, I'd throw my house on the scoreless draw against Drogs.

If we get a good performance against which results in a win then i'd say we could be in good shape going into the Drogs game and i'd fancy us to take all three points. It really depends on the performance tomorrow night. Ideally we'd see a return to nice crisp passing and moving it around fairly fast, and opening up Harps defence.

The only way we'l beat Drogs is by scoring in the first 10 minutes.
They come out at the start and are a bit uneasy. If we score before they get a chance to put everyone behind the ball fully, they'l then have to attack us trying to equalize and I think we'd score again.

Without doubt, if Drogs are in a situation where they have to play an attacking game and have to push forward then i'd really fancy us to win it.

I'm sharpening my knives for the end of first series thread.
I'd honestly be shocked if we got more than a point out of the two games against Pats (A) and Bohs (H).
My dashboard is marked from me banging it.
If you see a City fan in Urlingford at midnight next Sunday, kicking walls and throwing frustrated tantrums, say hi to Risteard.

Next three games now take on even more importance -
Pats away
Sligo Hone
Bohs away.
I fear we could take as little as one point from these 3. A huge performance is required in Inchicore this Sunday, and a win.

Id be more than happy with a draw.

Its gonna be a tough few games without Gamble.
Georgie and Healy in the middle anyway. Kearney on one site, i'd go with Billy on the other, Flynnie/Behan and Mooney.
Would like to see Darren Murphy make an appearance as well.

What's up with Gamble? Out for long?

Why? And where? This kid seems to be the most over thought of after a few agmes in Cork City history.
The back four picks itself, rightly or wrongly.
Midfield is easy enough as well. O Connor to start on the right, George, Healy and Kearney to make that up. Flynn (hopefully) and Moonaldo to start up front.

Sent off v Drogheda. Probably only miss the Pats game

I dunno, i didn't see the incident properly but its looking more like a three match from what people are saying. Can see us getting any breaks to be honest.

Is Woods not a left sided player? Sullivan is a right winger, he would do a decent job.

Ah we should put Sligo away in fairness.

At the same time, I reckon an orthodox midfield of creative midfielder, holding midfielder and wingers could impress with Kearney and Sullivan (or Woods).
That hasn't been seen in a City side in quite a while.
Also and I might be on my own on this, whether to do with Healys greater emergence or not, Gambles standards haven't been as high this season.

Theres that word again. Sligo are a decent side. Remember, they beat us twice comfortably last season, once at the Cross.
If all the points that should have been picked up were added up, we would be on 20 points at this stage rather than 13. So that begs the question - should we really have picked up those points, or should we be anyway confident about anything?

I'd agree with that, nothing is a given in this league these days. We might be good enough to beat them but that wont happen unless the effort is put in, and in a lots of the earlier draws you'd have to question the effort.
