Few of us[all fella's] might be going there in June, what ye think of it? I've heard it's a good spot but can be dodgy too?

I'd avoid going for the weekend if I were you. If your able to go between Mon-Thursday I'd recommend you doing so, much more pleasant experience and less aggro. Otherwise your in for Temble Bar on a Saturday night x100.
It's a nice place, cheap if you drink in the 'local' bars and I found the food to be excellent. The city is best explored on foot and easy to get around (I don't think I went on one tram or bus whilst I was there). It's definitely worth a visit. I went with the missus so I didn't partake in any of the 'dodgy' night scene activities that some men go for :). A nutter who works in our building and likes to pay for sex had a great time......... they were doing two for one offers and it sounded sleazy as hell. But hey he was a happy man.

I went on a stag for 4 nights its a mental place constantly bugged to go into strip shows ( brothels basically ) or buy drugs. Place i found was dirty and fairly dodgy allthough we saw no trouble. the local bars are cheaper the tourist bars are about 3 euro a pint . Food is good enough again local places are better and cheaper.
Be carefull of taxi's a agree a price before hand they are all out to rob you 3 of the lads got charged 50 euro to literally go around the corner ! we walked and arrived 2 mins before them !!!
Very big mafia presence lots of brothels where women are basically kidnapped and forced to sleep with men.
I didnt like it the because of the sleaze but it you can get away from that the people under 25 are super friendly over 25 will try to ripp you off is what i found.
Id say go but keep your wits about you and the small fella in your pants :D

Sign me up,GO ON SEX
I've been there twice and liked the place. Local booze is cheap and food is
decent. 1st trip was sightseeing/p!ssup and we had a blast, 2nd time was
for the match over there.
Stay clear of the seedy element and you should have a good time.

Prague is excellent, as is Krakow.
Avoid Bratislava and Riga.
Only an opinion.
Went with my girlfriend last year and had a great time. Make sure to check out the Jewish cemetary, and the Communist museum (it's overhead a McDonalds :D), other than that the food and drink is nice and cheap, the people are friendly, and it's a great city to just stroll around in and see where life takes you. Make sure to be on the Charles Bridge when the sun starts setting as well, it's just a nice feeling :)

Basically, there's a bridge and a castle.
Other than that, all there is, is a load of pubs and brothels. If that's what you're into, fine. If not, stay away.

Just booked for 3nights here(Monday-Thursday), for 3 people, later this June. I drink the odd time, the other lad doesn't, and the other does(but doesn't admit it) but is only 17...so don't think a lot of drink will be had:D. Is there anything interesting to do or see that doesn't involve wild nightlife?

Could be heading to Prague when 7 of us head off Interrailing in late July so let us know what you think of the place, cheers.

A friend of mine is still mentally scarred from this place. Him and his missus weren't mad about Prague. Haven't been myself.

The transport system there really is very good. Not a lot of touristy things to do but a nice city to walk around, loads of different designed buildings and a great city for nightlife I'd imagine. I think Prague has a bad reputation for crime etc. but really it's not as bad as is made out imo.
Might move over:D
EDIT: Forgot to say, met a Pat's fan at a Slavia Prague friendly match. He saw the Rovers jersey I had on and came over.

The transport is very cheap, but as for the rest of the place, it's alco/nympho-friendly, not touristy. Dublin is far more attractive for tourists.

Nonsense, unless you're a total philistine. I spent four days in Prague and found lots to do and see. Stojkovic listed a good chunk but there's even more. Prague is quite a lovely city aesthetically in the centre although facades and monuments have been neglected, particularly since the counter revolution (or is that counter counter revolution?). There's work being undertaken to restore them but that actually took away from the castle and bridge while I was there but it's necessary work.
With regards to prices, there can be a huge disparity between prices of simple products like water or a bottle of coke. I've seen water range from 50czk koruna to as low at 18czk. You've got to shop around not to get ripped off. You also tend to get whacked with random "service charges" in restaurants which are allegedy for the salt, pepper, sauces, bread and waiting service. Again, some places are perfectly decent and hit you with none of the add ons. Also, the Czech koruna has steadily grown stronger since last year so it was less expensive for those telling you how cheap it is who went a year ago or more.

Don’t forget the Torture Museum
Ok so i went for about 8 days. have to say I think Prague is a great city and def will go back there.
I did check out the torture museum and found it equally disturbing and fascinating, jesus some of the contraptions make the eyes water!
Didn't get to the communism museum which is a pity and went to the wax musuem instead which was a big mistake, it was rubbish. the national museum was good, and also went to the toy musuem.
The castle on the hill (!) is cool, and the zoo with bot gardens nearby was a highlight.
Found the public transport easy to use and cheap - metro, tram and bus. Kind of puts Dublin to shame really here.
Managed to p on the Charles Bridge one night coming home rat ossed - (heh i have a weak bladder) which made me think is there a holiday series out there - bennocelts guide to ****ing on top holiday landmarks!!!
Wasn't as busy as dublin on a night out, the place was virtually deserted on the Saturday night i walked or stumbled home!
Was very disappointed with the beer. It was nice but way to weak, very weak actually. Need vodka chasers just to give me a kick. Didn't try the Absinthe since i didnt want to go that mad.
Walked a lot, and virtually went all around the city. The place is very crowded with tourists so i tended to avoid the city centre and the Charles Bridge during the middle of the day
The food was excellent quality, cheap and delicious.
Didn't manage to really chat top any locals, which is always a shame, but they appeared to be friendly enough, bar some staff in restaurants.
Prague is a quality place to go - cheap, lots to see and do, clean, and not a rip off - so def not like Dublin then:)
