Cobh Ramblers youth team player Peter O Halloran has been called up to the Ireland u18 squad for matches against Malta next week. One of these games is being played in St Colmans Park on Thurs. April 17th K.O. 7.30pm. O'Halloran, son of former Ramblers legend Eddie, follows in his brother Stephen`s footsteps and will hopefully win the first of many caps. Peter who made his L.O.I. debut last season is a product of the Cobh Ramblers very successful youth system.

Ramblers manager Stephen Henderson expressed his delight at Peter's inclusion and commented that "the future of Cobh Ramblers is very strong with such good players coming through the youth system"

Good Man Peter. He will probably be a key figure in the A Championship this year and next year should be a full member of the first team squad.

Tis a pity alright that he didn't get a run out, even for the last few minutes. Overall I thought it was a poor enough game. Ireland were much stronger in the first half but I think that Malta came out stronger in the second half and played better football for the majority of same even though they played about 20 minutes with only nine players. Ireland could have nicked a win with a couple of chances near the end but their positioning and finishing wasn't the best. Can't remember the name of the Irish No:5 but he was some size of a lad. Reminded me of Richard Dunne.

his name was Shane O'Connor, some player alrit. I taught it was a poor game to be honest and de ref in de second half was a joke no need to send 2 players of like that. Bad form peter didnt get a run out hopefully he'll get another call up
