View Full Version : Always Ultras Registered Users Overnight Cull

CharlesThompson

It seems that the precious Ultras have had a cull of Bohs supporting members to their forum overnight.

What in the name of God is wrong with these people? I always thought that football forums were the discussion point for all supporters. Banter. Craic. Slagging. Seems MB culture in this country is quickly going downhill.

Unfortunately the lads running Always Ultras seem to be so embarrassed with last nights result the first thing on their agenda - ban all Bohs supporters. I wonder were any supporters of other clubs so dismissed by the hooped gestapo?

I was banned from srfcultras the first time i joined. I thought they had a SRFC fans-only policy? In fairness, opposition fans on a board inevitably turn into targets or into WUMs.

We have a few opposition fans that post regularly on our forum and I post occasionally on the Drogheda (As do you) and Galway forums. Never a big problem.

It varies a lot from board to board. Depends on what club you support too. I've never had any bother posting on the Derry boards, but Shams and Cork fans aren't so welcoming.

you have to be a member of shamrock rovers to be allowed on it... so anybody that isnt a member of the club, thats including some shamrock rovers fans are not allowed on the main forum... its not because you scum bet us last nigh

Funny then that I was able to post on it yesterday. Bohs beat Rofuss last night. Today I'm banned - seemingly along with a lot of other Bohs MB users. Coincidence?

As has already been pointed out, the main forum is members only i.e. you have to be either a member of Shamrock Rovers or a member of SRFC Ultras to be allowed on. There are a lot of Rovers fans not allowed on it anymore never mind bozos. This happened in January not last night. The only opposition fan I can think of being allowed on is martinn who is a Galway fan and a very nice bloke who doesn't talk ******** or go wumming.

What's the reaction to the performance last night over there, by the way? Really wasn't expecting Rovers to be that poor.

Have you found out the answer to the question you kept asking Joxer? You all seemed quite interested.

(The flares at the start looked well, I have to admit.)

I wouldn't want to put a pin in your balloon, but Bohs supporters aren't that important.

Since a couple of months ago, the main forum is open to Shamrock Rovers members only...excluding other Rovers fans, other supporters and miraculously Bohs fans fall into this latter category. It was opened back this week or so and now it's moved back again.

Nighthoop has posted in the off-topic section last night, Partizan and Conor H were there last week, I think.

Can you explain then why i was looking at your main forum on thursday and yesterday and was able to post on the other topics forum today and then all of a sudden i got a message saying im banned. Its a bit strange thought you lot were football purists and could take your beating well.Seems not

As I said, it's funny do you not think that yesterday I had access to the Main Forum yet today I don't.

However, as I was only there observing on the week before our game with you lot, I concede that it is not beyond the realms of possibility that "It was opened back this week or so and now it's moved back again."

Due to the fact that I don't regularly visit the site I could neither confirm your assertion is true or not. However, today was the first time I had no access to the Main Forum in ALL (the few) times I've logged on since I've been registered.

In case you doubt my bona fides - there was a heated exchange between two of your 'members' on the thread about the match against Bohs that bizarrly (sp) centred on the assertion that one of them accused the other as being more of a Celtic supporter than a Rovers supporter.

In any case, as I presumed that - given my own experience - I was banned and others I know who had access yesterday were also banned, I found it to be quite petty. Not something I'll lose any sleep over mind. Although you will concede that my first post on the subject did ask if any other supporters were banned - i.e. as in checking before I had concocted too many dubious wonderings in my own head.
I wonder were any supporters of other clubs so dismissed by the hooped gestapo?

Oh contraire dfx, please accept my own apologies for bursting your own bubble. Although I do like to see the opinions of the supporters of the teams Bohs are to play the week before the matches, I haven't been gnashing teeth or climbing up the walls because of my banning from the Rovers Main Forum.

BTW, my point still stands that it is merely your own 'members' that lose out with your administrators seemingly head in the sand approach to moderating your forum. The only football fans forum that I know of that blanket bans supporters of other clubs under a tenuous wumming excuse, along with the colateral damage of a few of your own number.

As I said, it looks petty. It still looks petty.

Moving this to the Rovers forum. The lads who run it can do what they like with it. On our forum I ban anyone who comes onto to goloat when they beat us. Nothing wrong with discussingt he match but idiots get banned. I'd expect the same if I do it (I'm banned from the Shel board for congratulating Steau Bucharest)

Find it absolutely pathetic that Bohs fans are so obsessed with Rovers that they come onto a general forum to complain about being banned on a forum, the day after they beat their biggest rivals. I absolutely guarantee you, no other clubs fans would do it (and I accept not all Bohs fans did this either)

As I'm sure they're aware, I have disagreed with the concept of it being closed to Rovers fans, but I will accept that it has nothing to do with Bohs fans or last night's match. It was open last week, so I'd expect you to see what was there last week, it is not now, so you can't unless you're a member of Rovers.

Would you like a Rovers membership form?:)

As I've said, that much is understood. Surely you can see that it would seem to the outsider (me) who doesn't normally visit the site, that today being the first time I've visited the site to find I'd been disallowed from the Main Forum - following last nights match - that it had some connection to the result.

absolute rubbish Dodge. And im sure deep down you know that this is not the case. You beat your biggest rivals and you are entitled to gloat and savour the moment.

Either way it doesnt affect me as i havent been nor have i attempted to be on the rovers forum in years. I just dont agree with your point.

Pathetic? I have to say I find that opinion a bit rich, surprising even coming from you Dodge a respected member of this MB. If you find that so pathetic, then you must agree that a football MB that blanket bans rivals from engaging in friendly banter from their site equally if not, more pathetic in the first instance.

As much as this 'complaint' has been aired on the general eL MB, it is only because my request for a reason for the ban was ignored on the Ultras MB in the first place.

Reading other supporters views is hardly what I'd consider obsessed Dodge. Though if you are as precious as the Ultras Administrators are then maybe I would seem obsessed to you.

And if it is understood, you can see that it has nothing to do with the result, it is reverting back to what it was pre-season and is not bitterness or pettiness as you have suggested. It is frustrating for Rovers fans I'm sure, but for others who understand it was closed before....

I don't agree its as pathetic.

And as the earlier point I don't think gloating on an opposition forum is anything but pathetic, and I don't think anyone is entitled to it

And I'll stress, its a particularly Bohs phenomenon as you are all obsessed with Rovers.

We are all obsessed with Rovers? They are our rivals. We maintain a healthy hatred of them. If you think that is pathetic then you should also think football fanaticism in general is pathetic (and maybe it is). What good is victory without losers?

What, I wonder, is your actual definition of obsession? It must start at a pretty low base if looking at a rivals MB is classed as obsession. That my friend is pathetic.
