Possibly one of the poorest standard games of football ive every seen. Both teams were poor, and in fairness, had it not been for the post and a great penalty save by Kelly, kildare could have won 2-0.
We never tried to play ball in the second half, our only dangermen, murphy and Davoren were starved of posession in the second half in favour of the long ball game. There were too many errors and wrong decisions made and a naivity in the play and management.
I know its early doors, and a very young team, but you have to worry, people wont go out to see that week in, week out..

The match was patethic... Very poor standard. Ican't believe that certain players still get started for us:confused: Whats wrong with Chucky?

He's not injured, is he? He seems to be at all the matches, surly he should be at least on the bench:confused:

On a different note nice to see Seanie back at Flancare:)

First time to see them this season and the gulf between the divisions is massive. Game wasn't great, picked up in places in the second half.

The formation wasn't bad and offers plenty going forward. The crucial player in it is Alan Lynch and I don't think he did enough in general play to make the system work. Brennan did well at centre half.

Their right midfielder, Cathal Brady (no 8) was about their best player. Linked up well with Kieran Kilduff (no 10), who should have had two. Daire Doyle was unlucky not to score, great save from their keeper.

Probably the worst game of football ever seen in Flancare. Shocking stuff. Thought our defence was awful, dont know how we didnt concede. Every time we got it, it was just hoofed up field. I fear for us against Galway and Shels in the next week. :(

Heart broken by what I have seen in the last 2 games, formation?? we dont have one, no one looks like they know wheere they are suppossed to be playin, we cant pass we cant defend and we constantly kick or run the ball out of play. And our defenders only head the ball when they fell like it. We have had no ideas, no passion and have not looked interested.
I except players not been good enough but I dont except a half hearted effort from them. Dire straits at the moment. Its gonna be a seriously long season and not a very happy one at this rate.
I was very positive in pre-season but not at all now

clean sheet is the only positive, even if it is a small one. Its something to clutch to.

i agree last nights match was extremely poor, our defence was all over the place, the amount of times big massive holes appeared in the defence every time kildare tried to play through us was unreal, for their penalty the kildare attacker was allowed to run about 40 yards right through the heart of our defence without a challenge i dont know how your man hardy stayed on the pitch it he was pullin yer mans jersey off him an he was the last man, again when they hit the post in the 2nd half there was mayhem in our backline-thats at the back....upfront meanwhile i never felt we were going to score..no ideas,no creativity and most worryingly there was no drive or determination from anyone really... its going to be a long season alright

I wasnt at all impressed from what was on show sat night... defensively we were shockin how hardy stayed on the pitch before the peno was given I will never know... stephen brennan was caught badly for pace for kildares chance that hit the post... gary murphy for me had the best chance he should have bein more clinical when he was thro on goal...

there was no set plan no leaders on the pirch for me.. .the worse standard of football I have seen since mickey o connors days and believe me that was a brutal team we had back then....:o

Be in with a chance of what exactly? Win the league? It was never on the cards before the season began. We DON'T have the budget to assemble a team capable of winning the league this season. Surely people realistically only expected a mid table finish at best?

It was the worst display ive ever seen for sure, (if you could call it a game at all) A good team would have murdered us. In fairness to fitzpatrick10, I also thought we'd be in it for promotion or at least taut a high finish wasnt far out of our reach, after seeing the friendly games.

Had a laugh at the prospect of playin the likes of kildare county and Lim 37, not laughin now that we're as bad if not worse:o. They need Experience on the field, simple as that. Its a total shamble at the mo...:(

I kinda thought we might've had a chance of making the playoffs, but since there aren't any this year there was surely no expectation of challenging for promotion given the cash Dundalk and Shels are splashing?

With no play off's, we should be concentrating on consoldating our financial position and giving young players experience. Assuming the play off's are back next season, we would then be in a reasonable position for a push for 4th. But even that would be dependent on who comes down - only one of shels and dundalk is going up, plus the three that come down could be in a stronger financial position.

Basically, there's a reason some big clubs have got stuck in the first - it's bloody difficult to get out!
