When he leaves at the end of next season. (http://www.eleven-a-side.com/ucd/news.asp?n=31575)

Won't be for 18 months- we'll worry about it then.

I'm fairly sure those quotes are made up. Only tabloid hacks use the word "eyeing".

timmy purcell is a self centered arrogant little git who couldnt give a sh*t about ucd. its quotes like that that show his head is in the clouds. i would throw him out now and have someone playing who actually wants to be there.

You forgot to mention ambitious - surely that's a prerequisite for success in the preofessional game? I accept the quote is a mite disrespectful to his current club, but there's nothing else wrong with what he says.

Who the heck are you to say that:mad::mad::confused:..Timmy is as honest as the day is long and one of the friendlist lads you cud meet. His comments were totally taken out of context. He's young and is only learning about the media etc and how they take what they like and twist it to make a headline.

While I do feel that his comments are a small bit out of place* one thing that can not be denied is that he always gives 100% when out on the pitch.

*and as Juanace as said, there is an element of media spin

I agree with that.

Should point out that I wasn't trying to start a pro/anti Timmy row when I posted; just linking in the article for interest's sake. I've no problem with any player using the club as a stepping stone; just encourages the next batch of players to do it and keep us going.

I have no quarrel what he said. We mightn't like it, but any player with the ambition to make a career of football will be looking to move on. In the mean time, he's playing well and working hard on the pitch.

Who had we up front two years ago? An inexperienced Sammon along with Podge? Or did we still have Robbie Martin?

Robbie left at the end of the 2006 season. He was up front with Podge, Paul Byrne and/or Sammo. 'Twas the year Podge was top scorer.

Sammon and McWalter played up front for most of the 2006 season.
