How long since the Limerick forum had one of these?!?!

So four games in and:

Not a hint of financial scandal.
Kerley has stumbled on a good team.
Absolutely nothing to fear from the four teams we've played so far.
Paddy and Derek still to come back.
The way Mike Kerley has the team playing means no matter how we do we can be snooty to the rest of the division.

Some matters for discussion:

Is Shane Treacy a left back or push him up the park?? Personally I don't like having him at left full because, well, he can't really defend. But 4tothefloor made a valid point about him overlapping the other night so I'm open to debate.

When Paddy comes back do we push Tommy up the field or drop Paul Dannagher and have Tommy and Paddy centre half.

Discuss.....

Would it have been after the good start last year, or maybe after the good start the year before...

Ah no in all seriousness I hope ye manage to keep it all together and have a decent season and get all the finances and that sorted for once, maybe just let us beat ye once in a while. :)

No offence but being a Wexford fan you don't really get the context.

This is the first time in a long time that there has been no murmurings around town about $hite off the field.

As starts go 6 points from 12 isn't even a good one for us.

I can remember at one stage two seasons ago when we were something like:

P 12 W 10 D 0 L2

Positivity? what the hell is that!

It's when that can of Budwiser is half full ;)

Being honest I threw this thread up for the laugh in anticipation of hundreds of people rushing to shoot it down.

Where are they?!?! :)

I reckon Treacy is a left back. Full backs these days need to be that bit more dynamic, overlapping etc. Roberto Carlos, Clichy, Evra. More like wing backs than anything else. Haven't seen him cross a memorable ball yet tho(I'm open to persuasion). He does need a disciplined winger ahead of him too, who will be able to decide whether or not to stay at home when he does push on. He seems v.focussed, with possibly his size the only thing going against him.

Unfortunately, I'd have to say the latter. Pros and cons tho. Think with Colbert and Harrington in the middle you've got a good partnership - invention and hard work,so when Darren gets a bit more experience there'll be a very solid spine to the team.

Dannagher's done well but is prone to lapses in concentration, so maybe another year as understudy will do him no harm. Harsh tho as he does deserve the plaudits for his performances, especially in the brutal conditions the other night.

Maybe leave Fogarty infront of himas he seems to have a bit of a defensive head??

I know what you mean.

Would be fair harsh on Danno but at the same time Tommy has to play.

Oh another positive ( ): Peter White (White, White) slotted straight back in and appears to have gotten a Brian Donnellan style hard man makeover :p

Have to agree with the positivity at the moment. I think after the pre season we've had we should enjoy the good times as they come to us. I think Tracey gives the team more scope for attack comin from a left back position,he seems to get faster the more of the left side he has to run into. Purcell and barrett as the 2 centre halves for me.Danagher will get plenty of game time over the season.Harrington and Colbert are developing a nice partnership.Would also like to see Ryan start up front with willie.
Kerley playing to his strength's which are pace and passing. No point lobbing balls into the box,we've no height.
Not as bad a start as we expected, lets enjoy the moment!

Hats off to Mike so far. I admit to not being his biggest fan in previous times, but he's got a poor squad on paper playing good football, and the confidence they are getting is only going to make them a better side.

It looks like Paddy is going to be out for at least another month. What a pity Paul Finucane couldn't be tempted out of his self imposed retirement. I'd like to see how a back three of Paddy (centre) Finny (left) and Tommy (right); wing backs White and Treacy; a midfield three of Collbert(holding) Fogarty and Harrington; with Carthy and Bruton up top would play.

I only make valid points. Treacy, left-back, end of debate :D
