Seems to have been the major talking point of the week in the eircom league.
The lads on MNS spent a good 5 minutes tallking about it and Con Murphy talked about it in his weekly blog.
The papers also questioned the decision.
But today on eircom.net Billy George spoke of his dissappointment at the goal being disallowed. Billy also went out of his way to get an explanation from Pat the Plank.
Players were encroaching into the centre circle at the time and he had not given the signal to re-start the game. So, according to the laws of the game, he had to disallow it.
The goal got John a place in the Team of the Week (http://www.eircomloi.ie:82/news-centre/columnists/billy-george/week-3/index.xml) for as Billy put it, "his initiative and daring"
John has become the second Ramblers player in a row to make the team of the week. Well Done John.
Try it again on Saturday!:D(It'll take a brave referee to disallow that at St. Colmans vs Cork City):D:D
