Sporting Fingal: Hussey, Tyrell, Kelly, Rogers, Collins (C. Byrne 55), S. Caffrey (James 44), O’Neill, Gannon, K. Byrne (Hynes 72), P. Caffrey, Doyle.

1. James Hussey - Despite not being as dominant in the air as Williams he did a good job all game with swirling winds, and was alert when Shelbourne had a succession of half chances in the second half 6/10

2. Derek Tyrrell - Did really well considering that the Shels players seemed to attack in twos up the right side. The missed penalty kick was nearly perfect, must have been a funny spin that made it bounce out instead of into the goal 7/10

3. Brian Kelly - A slightly more solid display this game, he came into his own turning defending situations into attack with nice balls to midfielders. Not a great crosser from wide positions but at least knows how to put a bendy ball into the box from deep. A couple of nervous moments in both halves when Shelbourne players snatched at loose balls 7/10

4. Dave Rogers - The big man was classy and solid and I heard someone blaming him for Shels goal but he was solid and organised throughout. He really showed his experience and toughness when Shels came looking for the winner 8/10

5. Aiden Collins - With Philip Byrne missing it was his chance to shine and he did well to head away a few speculative balls in the first half and cover over behind Kelly as required. Unfortunatley his injury came at the worst time and he'll have to wait to show us if he's got it 6/10

6. Stephen Caffrey - A chance to look at the other Caffrey. He's a solid man with a good habit of winning the ball. Not enough chances to get forward for us to see what else he can do, and was repleced at half-time with an injury 4/10

7. O'Neill - A very busy little player with a useful left-foot and the ability to keep the ball under pressure. We might have one for the future here but on this evidence he didn't really "boss" the game 5/10

10. Paul Caffrey - Seemed to be deployed in a more defensive postiion and thankfully had a big influence on the game in the second half leaving shelbourne to play balls over the top rather than blaze through the middle 7/10

8. Gannon - No lack of work-rate and running in the first half the second half of the game seemed to pass him by and he had a good few cramps towards the end and wasn't able to contribute defensively 5/10

9. Karl Byrne - Definitely has the potential to develop this season. Took his goal extremely well and was a live-wire all throughout the first half perhaps exhausting himself 7/10

11. Robbie Doyle - Things are just about not working for him in the last couple of games. Concentration on the final ball needed here. Didn't get as many shooting opportunities as in other games either, might be tired after the succession of recent games. Missed a badly taken penalty in the shootout 6/10

SUB
12. Conan Byrne - Full of movement and awareness as well as the goal helpfed us hugely to keep the ball and use it in the second half. Our star player really made an impact 9/10 :)

14. Peter Hynes - When he came on he showed the others how to hold the ball up. A brilliant contribution and really should have linked better with Doyle for a couple of breakaway attacks 8/10
