All to play for in the local Derby next week.............
Can't wait, this is what it is all about, The team will have to pick themselves up a lot during the season but the victories we will get will be all the sweeter, especially if we can do it against Cork:)

all games finished
We robbed them, they deserved something even with 10 we only had one shot.
Ryan was awful again lost the ball most of the time, Fahey and Lynch were bossed by their midfield, their wingers kept going at paisley and joe, 2nd half they got in vs joe a lot but he getting better every game.
Kirby our man of the match, the real one was their right winger, altho they bossed the game and played nice ball they didnt have many shots most were blocked by pardo and harris, their keeper made 2 wonder saves. O Neill worked his balls off quigley played well Ryan wasnt very good, Fahey and Lynch had moments but they barely got a sniff in 1st 60 mins galways 2 mids were well on top.
We lack play from the full backs, when they do get forward they dont really do much, Kirby helped paisley a lot but ryan :(

Another Derry late show. I don't think they deserve it really. Shocking marking though.
Cork had the better of the game but considering all the possession they had should have created more chances. Great save by Doherty to keep it at 1-0 just after HT, but apart from that had very little to do.
Derry's midfield was non-existent for most of the game- Healy bossed the game and was deservedly motm. Sammon changed the game for them when he came on, held the ball up well and Derry were able to build attacks as a result.
Wonder what O'Callaghan and Doherty was all about.
Doherty started celebrating in front of the Shed at the end, don't know if anything was said to him or not. Georgie and Behan started shoving with him but it was nothing more than handbags really. Doherty sarcastically applauded the Shed when he was going back in the tunnel.

Ramblers scored direct from the KO and over the keepers head but Ref disallowed it for some reason.
aaaarrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Absolutely nothing wrong with that goal , watch it on MNF. quick thinking from Ramblers , Mikko off his line and the ball went clean over his head and into the net , cant understand why it was disallowed.
Having said that I think Ramblers have their work cut-out to survive in the Premier this season.

Haha yeah it feels good. Although after your match tomorrow you should restore the natural order of things.

Baker's goal was a great strike, game changed with Rowe's miss - he didn't look up and a lot more time and space than he thought.

Harps 1 UCD 0 :)
Very windy, wet and even some snow on the way home :D
Wind with us in the 1st half and we played well first half. Williams scored a 35 yeard shot into top corner, dipped over keeper a bit, he probably should have done better. Williams then nearly scored again with his right foot from 25 yards but it scraped wide. We only had one other chance in the whole game. UCD pretty much dominated the match and had half a dozen excellent scoring chances but couldn't score.
A bit like the Cobh match we mugged them. UCD looked good, played good attacking football but couldn't score. Both sides are similar attacking sides. UCD and Harps won't draw many matches, thats for sure.
Attendance was low, 1200 I would guess, due to the weather, night (Saturday would draw bigger crowds) and the fact that UCD are a University and not a football club with fans doesn't help.
Up the harps :)

Im bad at guessing crowds but it was definitely more than 1200 anyway. I would have thought 1900.

UCD dominated possesion and were very unlucky not to at least draw the game.Pitch was horrible and it was freezing so the three points is very welcome.Granted Harps had five out injured/suspended but we will have to improve at keeping hold of the ball.

I disagree Poor game but we were the better team and we were the only team to create any chances.

Wonder what O'Callaghan and Doherty was all about.
Doherty was about half way inside his own half & was turning around towards the City fans lifting his arms in the air. O'Callaghan had a few words as he walked past & few seconds of handbags followed. Non event.
Very disappointed with City performance. Felt we sat back too much on lead & always asking for a last minute goal. Disappointed with 451 from Derry as Stephen Kenny teams while a bit direct usually go to win games. McCourt beat many players but no end product as his own players not on same wavelength.

They played the ball backwards from the restart - the ball has to go forward, so it wasn't in play when the shot was taken. Surprised we had a ref who understand the more obscure rules of the game.
Could be proven wrong on Monday but that's my take on it.

I dunno why he did it, but even before they shot, the ref blew his whistle tewic to bring it back to be taken again.

Jesus that is basic from the Cobh player if that is the case. That is one of the first rules you are thought as a player.

If the drogs were still celebrating then surely the ref hadnt blown his whistle to restart the match?

Maybe he was giving him a bit of advice seeing as GOC was booked for doing it the previous week

I think it's ridiculous that players get booked for celebrating.
In fairness to O'Callaghan, he was with the away team and the Cork fans were on the other side of the ground.
Last night, Doherty was down the opposite end of the pitch from the Derry fans, why should he have to wait til he's right in front of them to celebrate?

Don't see what that's got to do with it?
Anyway, the poor lambs in the St. Anne's stand should learn to take it on the chin. It was a point earned in the last minute of 94, away from home- ok, it might have been a bit silly from Gerard but if you can't take it, don't give it.

O'Callaghan got booked for celebrating/goading Rovers fans. O'Doherty was doing the same thing (game was over) but as I said already nothing event.

I can't see Cork fans warming to the brand of football Alan Matthews plays.
They had Derry on the rack early in the second half and should have pushed on for a second goal, when inexplicably his defensive mindset took over, he brought on a defensive sub and starting playing the corners with 20 mins to go, which allowed Derry back into it when we had no right to. Leopard, spots, change etc.
Great to see Georgie back in the EL, so easy to wind up.
Maybe he was giving him a bit of advice seeing as GOC was booked for doing it the previous week
She got booked for doing it up in drogheda too! Mustn't like celebrating with his own supporters much!
Do you blame him?
Not at all - 100% fair game imo.
But i do think its a bit sad that he gets his knickers in a twist when an opposing player does it!
EDIT: Just copped on to what ye were implying - of course i dont blame him :D
