Hi all
does anyone know what Setanta Sports Ireland (bonus channel in the uk) actually shows of interest. Which of the eircomeleague, setanta cup etc actually makes it over the water?

Cheers

I think Setanta Ireland is only available through Sky Satellite. Ive seen it on the planner before. I know its not available on Cable packages like Virgin or BT

I was able to get watch the Linfield V Cork match in the Setanta Cup last year in Prague on Sky, so if its available in eastern europe it must definitely be available in our neighbours.

Virgin Media (Formely ntl cabletel) show Setanta channels for free but they have apparently never heard of Setanta Ireland. Bloody useless. Setanta Ireland is available on SKY however you have to pay the subscription.

It is possible that they subscribe using an Irish address as, as far as I know, Setanta Ireland is not available to mainland UK viewers. Up here when they show live Premiership games on a Saturday afternoon they are blocked out. It is illegal to have a Sky subscription outside UK and Ireland but it is of course very wide spread.

David - slightly off topic, why do almost all IL games take place at 3pm on a sat ? Do you not think attendances would increase if the bigger clubs took the lead and started playing on fri or sat nights ? I watched the goals from clifftonville v coleraine today - looked to be a shocking attendance for the lge leaders, even more strange as isnt there only 5 or 6 games to go ?
