Bray on the move

Bray Wanderers 2-1 Limerick City
It’s happy days at the Carlisle Ground as Pat Devlin’s side moved into second place in the First Division thanks to a hard earned win over Limerick.

Bray had looked dangerous early on with Colm James causing problems but it was the visitors who should have broken the deadlock on the half hour only for the goalkeeping of Bray’s Chris O’Connor. The ‘keeper earned his bacon when he kept out an effort from Gareth Cooney but it was not long afterwards that Derek McCarthy finished a rebound from a Stephan O’Flynn shot to the net.

It took 13-minutes of incessant second half play before Bray levelled the game. John Flood crossed for Stephan Fox to power a header to the net.

Bray went all out for a winner with Eamon Zayed causing the Limerick defence all sort of problems and he set up Flood for the clincher on 72-minutes, when he fired past Healy in the Limerick goal.

To compound matters for the visitors, John Whyte was sent off with 10-minutes left on the clock.
