We feel that the ’08 Home Shirt represents a powerful combination of the old and new.”
.... yeah, old shirt with a new collar!!!!!
I know I'm the type of idiot who buys every jersey almost the minute it comes out, but,
the only way I'll be buying this one is if they release it without the eircom logo.
Still only see the eircomless grey one with 10 Keane on it! Almost any other player, within reason,
and I'd probably buy it.

"Comfort and ease of movement are central in the shirt’s design. The shirt has been anatomically cut to emphasise the athleticism of the player, while a twill mesh body fabric ensures that it is both lightweight and breathable. Other benefits include a hybrid neckline and a specially shaped underarm gusset, which maximise comfort and mobility".
Feck Trapp - they've included a gusset!! The advent of this hi-tech jersey could really make the difference to our qualifying hopes!! :D

Will it automatically change to "emphasise the athleticism of the Fan":D

Yes indeed. The "twill mesh body fabric" will accomodate the most bloated of beer guts.

Sometimes you just have to buy but its a bit ridiculous that they couldnt have made a bit of an effort in designing it. Think they are taking the pi$$ a bit with this one to be honest. Its not a bad shirt but thats not the point. The shirt from 2002 world cup is still my fav I think

I'm surprised at the cynicism on here, I think we can all agree with Umbro's assessment that the 2008 Ireland home kit represents a powerful combination of old and new.
This new official team jersey with placed team badge and embroidered logo. Features felt sponsor logo at front.
Damn, that's some crazy power right there. INTENSE, is another word that springs to mind. I can certainly see why Mr. Courtenay is extremely proud of the hybrid neckline which he, and his team of skilled artisans, have worked so hard to create. This clearly is the highpoint of his life's work.
Although, I have to say, it feels like there should be some sort of license required before purchasing the jersey. I mean who can really tell what will happen when the awesome power of the twill mesh body fabric is unleashed on an unsuspecting public. Not everyone will be able to handle the moisture management fabric and there's a very real danger that this could lead to a subculture of X-STATIC addicts - pitiful junkies who can't survive without a fix of The Silver Fiber :(

In fairness. there only so much you can change. The shirt has to all green, so doesn't leave much room for creative design.

every club or country have their own colours and people manage to be creative and come up with new designs all the time so that comment doesnt make any sense

i presume he meant to say:

or course the irony in stating that someone else's post didn't make any sense is quiet funny!!!!

No problem it's quite baggy i would say , and a massive plus the sleves are loose fitting as the last one cut the blood surply to your hands .
Funny that when I bought the last one one i was thinking to myself that I had bought a duff one as the bottom of the sleves were far to tight until one of my mates had the same problem . All I can say is thank god that I don't train on weights as i would have never got the thing over yours arms if I had biceps .:
