Was bound to happen. He will score against us later this season too. Makes ya wonder why he couldnt do it under Cousins.

Well done Murphs.

Super goal. Makes you wonder why galway couldn't use his talents, especially after watching some of the rubish play by some of the new signings last night.

He didn't use his talents last season. Tir Oilean is on the button.

or the season before. He got slated by all and sundry here over the last 2 seasons Lal placed a huge amount of his faith in Murph but he let him down as well.

Murph was an absolute legend in his first spell in Terryland and will always be remembered for that.He never reached the same heights with Derry or when he came back.

you know he will - and then not score for the rest of the season

Of course, there will be a bunch of tossers who will boo him at Teryland next weekend. This will make him more determined to score.

As GUFCT said, Murph was a great servant to United; we should salute him and not slag him. It wasn't his choice to leave Galway United.

he was a great servant first time round - was not interested last season or most of the season before

his attitude stinks - was delighted to hear he was leaving - he may have got a goal or two for rovers - but if he stayed here im sure he would have just farted around gathering his pay cheque just like he did most of last season

I'd sooner point the finger at his last his manager for his demise. I heard some tactical horror stories regarding murphs during last season. It's absolutely no surprise that he's playing well for Scully. Don't jeer the fella on saturday. He was released by GU after all.

It wasnt just TC he underperformed for. Remember it was the same story under Lally and up in Derry for Kenny(who it has to be said is one of the better managers in the league!) also.

Murphs stated in an interview for the match programme (last season I think) that he preferred to play a midfield role than a strikers role and he didnt play it (midfield) so well when he got the chance. Terry's point about Derry is also extremely valid. I will definitely give him a warm welcome back to Terryland as I sure the rest of the gang on the halfway line will. Remember Rovers welcoming TC back? We should do the same for one of our best strikers too.
