Whats the guess for the attendance at the Dundalk - Bohs game?
at least 2,000 maybe?
to be honest...i think we will get well over 3,500 v bohs
(well if it's the 1st game)
even so anytime during season versus bohs,rovers,drogheda,derry should get a huge crowd(at least 3,000 for them games)
if not i would be surprised as our attendances will well bounce new era and we well have the support it's second to none

well the tv gantry is above the shed:(
which won't show us :mad:
but it will show the stand and the away support...i also don't know how you will be able to hear the commentators for llive games with the noise that the shed will create :D

You're being very optimistic in my opinion.
The RSC was a morgue last year, Waterford vs. Fingal won't break 1,000 never mind 1,500. Shels rarely breached 1,000 last season, especially not against Wexford. I'd be happy with 2,500 - 3,000 for the Dundalk game, I really doubt it'll reach 3,500.
And finally, 1,000 people at Longford - Monaghan!??! :eek:
Interesting estimates, I was just looking at the premier games for the kick off earlier and I was thinking, all of those look like they could attract around 3,000.
Holiday, I think a little harsh on shels there, they got very close to 1,000 last season in a lot of games. Waterford were poor though. We need to careful about ourselves this season, fans wont automatically flock into oriel, we`ll need to put on decent consistent displays to maintian our fanbase, and we wont be winning anything near as much as we did last year, well certainly no more 7-0 scorelines ! :)

We got just over 1000 against Wexford the last time we played them so I wouldnt rule out getting 1000 fans in this time. Maybe im being optimistic though.

How about this,guess the opening weekend attendances!(incl away fans)
Premier Division
Bray v Rovers = 2,000
Derry v Drogheda = 3,000
Dundalk v Bohs = 3,500
St Pats v Galway = 2,500
Sligo v Cork = 3,000
Average = 2,800
First Division
Mervue v Athlone = 1,000?(hard to guess)
UCD v Limerick = 600
Shelbourne v Wexford =1,000
Waterford v Fingal = 1,500
Kildare v Harps = 500
Longford v Monaghan = 1,000
Average = 933
They seem fairly accurate but i'd say we would get, at the most, 2500-2700

I'd be very very surprised if we got anywhere near 1,000 for Monaghan. 500-600 maybe, Monaghan don't bring many with them in fairness.

Knock 500-1000 off the St Pat's - Gufc and similar off the Dundalk - Bohs game. Like was said in another post Waterford wont get 1,500 and I think Mervue would be lucky to get 1,000. All the others are possible but they are at the optimitic end of the range

Knock at least 30% off them all; they're all drivel.
Seriously - if yez want to start a new thread for 2009 attendances, fire ahead. Otherwise, don't dig up a three-month dead thread ffs.

less than 500 at the rsc for the big game against dundalk earlier last season and then 1500 for our last home game! some very low attendances last season for some reason! hopefully better this year :) 1500 would be a very nice way to start things off :P an a win of course :)
