Yeah!! Just seen that. He was talking about getting O'Brien and finnan back... There was also talk of getting people eligable to play to declare. I wonder who that could be... Are they talking about kids? What's the criteria again???

You can see Brady talking with Bill and Eamo here: http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2008/0305/bradyl_av.html
One of the most heartening things Liam says is that he intends to speak to players who have retired, including Andy O'Brien and Steve Finnan, to see if they will consider returning.
With his knowledge of the Irish players from his work as a pundit, combined with his experience of working with young players at Arsenal (given the relative youth of our squad) he's a perfect candidate for assistant manager.

Wonder how many kids in the Arsenal set up qualify?
Also there has to be a generation of Irish kids coming to the right age in Italy, should be 17 this Feb:D:D

Brady spent a months trying to get McGeady to Arsenal. I doubt he holds any grudges if that's what you mean. He was very complimentary about him in his commentary for the Brazil match.

That's how the name is pronounced in Scotland. Brady speaks Scottish as well as Italian.

I think this is great news, the addition of Brady to Tardelli and Trappatoni does give us a potentially great managment team and I am now looking to the World Cup qualifiers with a lot more confidence than I was a couple months ago.
I noticed that when Bill asked Brady if this was a stepping stone to the Irish job Liamo said 'No' I get the impression that he is happy enough being in the background and not being a gaffer

To be honest I don't think any Irish person would want the job after seeing how Stan was treated.
I'd suggest his tune might change if Trap is successful and becomes a hero like Jack did.

He makes a point in the RTE video that the opinions he's given on players in the past will have to be forgotten, and that he doesn't see any problems working with players he hasn't been complimentary about in the past.
Like we've all said before, turkeys aren't going to vote for Christmas, and no player is going to hold a grudge against Brady for something he said if it'll cost him a place in the squad.

This is fantastic news. Its up to the players to put up or shut up now imo. The management team is the equal of any in the international game at the minute.

The title of this thread reminds of of that song in the Simpsons by the B Sharps. Baby on Board, This thing writes itself.
