FIrstly well done to the FAI and the clubs for putting this in place. Its been a great service for us anyway so far this season and is being utilised well.

One thing I think would be good though is if there was an LOI version of it for scores of all games. I would find this very handy anyway as am always asking about the scores of other games while at the cross.

What do people think? And how are the webtexts doing for your club?

Look at the bottom right hand corner here. Thats how you sign up, its sponsored by webtext(in conjunction with the FAI) and they are completely free.

Its up to the clubs what they send out though. Our CPO is using them very well. For preseason games we've gotten starting line-ups, goal updates and scorers and final score updates.

Also in the couple of week or so Ive gotten 2 texts about a promotional event where you meet the players, a few about Kick Off 2008 and where to buy tickets, info about the new jerseys and got a text yesterday about Fridays game.

Id expect another text or two about the game between now and friday.

Funnily enough just this morning i decided to get rid of them, woke me up to tell me we're playing Bohs tonight. There more for the two-bit fan tbh, if you've any interest in your club it's information you've long known.

Would be ok if they even told you about new transfers, scores(be good for an away game you could'nt make) but ive only got 3/4 about stupid things like todays one!!

i wanna sign all my mates up to them not only to pester them but in the hope that they will get off their arses and head to a game or two. not easy for me to get to games livin in edinburgh so ill try to help attendances that way. came home this weekend for the opener tho. flights cost me a small fortune cos of that rugby shenanigans
