Yes - it's badly worded.
They mean the midweek after (the weekend of) Friday 21st.

x) Admission by season ticket does not apply in this Competition.
Our season tickets this year say they are valid for the League Cup so I don't know what the story is here...?

Donegal team. Current Ulster Senior League champions, based in the village of St. Johnston on the Donegal / Derry border.
Incidentially, the Ulster Senior League have gone to a summer soccer season from 2008 onwards - in line with the eircom League.

Your club will probably still admit you with a season ticket, but for every season ticket holder that enters the ground that night, your club will have to give 40% of the normal admission fee to the visiting club (i.e. if the admission price is €20, your club will have to give €8 to the visiting club for every season ticket holder who goes to the game).

Bizarre. So I'd be saving money for the club by staying away?? Only the FAI could come up with a beauty like that.

It's because it's a cup competition. The gate is always split as it would be unfair not to give the away team any of the gate receipts as it was just luck of draw that they were away. It's the clubs' fault for allowing season tickets to be used for cup games.

Anybody know why the 3 new teams in the A league are not in this competition?

You'd do more than save money if you just paid at the gate.

From the link posted by Fintan Cassidy above.
FAI eircom League Cup
Rule 2:
i) A maximum of 24 Clubs shall compete in the competition on a knock-out basis.
ii) The 22 FAI eircom League of Ireland Clubs must compete in the Competition and invitations to compete shall be issued to the Ulster Senior League winners and the Kerry League. If an invitation to compete is declined, then the FAI National League Executive Committee shall have the power to issue an invitation to another Club or entity at its discretion.
The A League is outside the traditional two division league. While many of the players will be at their respective clubs for a while, every team in the new A League will be a new team. There is no guarantee that the new clubs will be of First Division standard, no-one promised anything different.

The A League doesn't start for a good few months anyway. I doubt those clubs would have a team together in time for the league cup.

Quite a few Derry lads play for them, i would not worry about a potential banana skin anyway.
