I've had about enough of watching some of these so called players of the future- itandze, lucas, babel, KUYT, kewell, just to name a few. the list goes on and on, so much money spent on Championship players,
It's a disgrace and the way things are going, the Great name of Liverpool F.C is spiralling downwards slowly but surely.

shocking result today, the amount of needless changes he makes is killing the team, plus he has spent money on average players. think his time is coming to an end only saviour will be if he wins champions league

Thats all he seems interested in, Don't get me wrong it would be great to win it for a 6th time, but i do not think we will win it, in a way i hope we don't so the owners get him OUT of the club, he just doesn't have it,
I was watching a match from 1997 on the Liverpool TV channel and the style of play we played back then was second to none, swift passing, nowadays a 10 yard pass is embarassing to watch, babel is predictable, poor kuyt just doesn't have it as much as the work he puts in, he is NOT deserved to be wearing the Red,
I am just purely disgusted at today's performance.

They haven't been in it for the last fifteen years. The 2005 CL win was merely paper over the cracks.
:ball: PP
Since Besiktas away, no result other than Marseille away has affected the course of the club.
Pleased for Barnsley though.

Finished second once in the last 15 years I think? And they still think they're in with a shout every year
Benitez got only three and a half seasons to go from Houllier to league champions with less resources.
Oh well, next up.

A week ago the Kop were cheering his name. Today he was booed off.
What a difference a week makes!
Only the Kop seems to support him. Every single ex-player hates his guts and they don't hide it either. I'd say the time has come for him to go.
I wouldn't be surprised if he was sacked in the morning.

And yet no closer to winning the league, I do agree though it was a much better looking side apart from the defence obviously.

Now there's an astute observation.
It was only 96 dead like ...and it happened ages and ages ago ...they were only supporters as well.

I hope Liverpool hold on to him for as long as they can. :D
I dont know what liverpool fans are complaining about they are 3 points off their target 4th spot with a game in hand thats the best they could have hoped for at the start and baring a complete dissaster should get top 6 anyway. Its the fans own fault for thinking they could challenge for the tittle and then getting dissapointed when they dont.

I'm surprised Benitez hasn't left Liverpool already. There's clearly something going on behind the scenes which is having an effect on him doing his job to the level he is capable of (like what happened to Mourinho). The Yanks coming out and saying that Klinnsman was approached for the job obviously didn't help him either. Not saying Benitez has done a brilliant job at Liverpool, but I don't think he has been bad enough to even have anyone consider his position. The only negative point I would make about him would be his signings- perhaps a director of football could be the answer.

Joke. Liverpool only won because the referee was crap.
Last night was a classic liverpool performance - no direction, all at a million miles an hour, no poise, but energetic, passionate and committed.
They will probably go through but this was a good result - not a good performance

Spot on, Inter didn't register their first shot in goal until the 49th minute, clearly down to the referee, not to mention the penalty for Vieira's handball, but anyhoo.....

well if they had 11 men on the pitch who knows what would have happened. Joke of a decision to send Materazzi off.

Why? Every dog in the street knows that if you tug on a shirt from behind, you get a yellow. This is a UEFA guideline. Materazzi has only himself to blame. NO ONE every talks about the player's responsibility is such circumstances. He knows he's on a yellow and he tugs Torres' shirt. Stupidity of the highest order. Everyone then blames the ref for following his orders from UEFA. What about the stupid players? Innocuous challenges sure but they're the rules.

Second one would have been a stonewall yellow if he wasn't already on one, pulling Torres back. On the one hand you have people saying harsh or a joke and on the other hand you have people whittering on about consistency. Can't win either way.

He shouldn't have got a yellow for the first challenge. If you can call it a challenge - the guy tripped over Materazzi.

The first one is arguable I agree but at first sight (and that's all the ref has) it looked as if he was tripped. The second one was a definite yellow.
All ex-players (pundits) hate referees. They say they have no clue about professional footballers but it works both ways: professional footballers have no idea what it's like to be a referee and what a thankless job it is.

The linesman was looking straight at Torres/Materazzi! I thought the ref was too trigger happy with the cards early on and wasn't consistent. Mascherano (I think) went through somebody and no card came out - if your giving yellow cards for anything then at least be consistent. Even Beglin admitted the ref was a 'homer' after 25 minutes. You guys might complain about RTE's coverage but at least you don't have to listen to Clive ' I was at the Nou Camp in 99' Tyldesley for 90 minutes!!!

The Vieira handball....another mad decision from the "homer" ref.
