Chaps,
I am a Pat's fan (please do not necessarily hold that against me) who is doing some consultancy work for a UK company called Just Football. They specialise in PC football management games dedicated to one particular club. Check out www.justfootball.net
They are looking for ways to expand the business and develop new products.
Do you think a specifically designed Eircom League PC management game would have an legs?
In short - would anyone be interested in it? The price would be around 30 Euros.
Please comment any way you like all feedback and/or abuse is welcome.

I'd be interested in buying it, and if the game itself was any good aside from just the fact it's the Eircom League then, I'd guess, so would alot of my mates, even ones who wouldn't consider themselves fans of the league.

Cheers for that. It is good to know that we might be on to something.
It is interesting considering that you can already play in the Eircom league in CM4. Our game is a lot less complicated than CM4.

CM4 was useless, didn't work properly on my computer at all, too slow and full of mistakes, basically it was well rushed, on top of that it didn't seem like the league was that well researched as far as players strenghts are concerned.
Although, not to put a dampner on things, if the next CM, whenever it comes out, fixes these faults then there would be a bit of competition, but I would say most EL fans who buy games would buy one that was based entirely on the league, but it'll be good to wait until this time tomorrow and see what the popular opinion is.

I'd go for CM 01/02 (or CM 00/01 for that matter) before I'd consider going for a club specific game. Although I'd probably go for a U.C.D. if included lots of pictures of the ground/players and information about the club just for the novelty of the thing.
Although you'd probably only sell about ten U.C.D. games so how wise making one would be...

My Kerramba I'd strongly advise against it. Just look at the facts. The premier division averages about 13,000 a week in gates. About half of these are of computer game playing age. That leaves 6,500. For arguments sake let's say a quarter of these actually play computer games. That leaves a target market of 1625. I wouldn't put the time, money or effort into designing a product to cater for a target market of such a small size, simple as that. The GAA would be amuch more attractive option from a business sense. Also bear in mind that I'm an avid Eircom League fan. I just don't think it would work.

Postman,
What do you consider computer game playing age then?

I dunno. At a guess I'd saY 95% of computer game players are under 30. Am I wrong??

I'd say 35 (if not 40) to be honest.
