View Full Version : You're first 11
Was thinking about this when trying to do the fantasy football last night, and not sure exactly who teams have signed etc and who is likely to play.
So, as it stands, what do you think/want you're starting 11 will be?
.............................Mick Devine..............
Neal Horgan..Dave Mulcahy...Dan Murray....Pat Sullivan
.............................Joe Gamble..............................
..................Colin Healy.........Gareth Farrelly.............
.............................George O Callaghan..................
...................Dave Mooney............John O Flynn.......
With Denis Behan in for O' Flynn in the likely event that he is injured.

i could only see us playing that formation at the cross... anywhere like Dalymount we'd be slaughtered for width.
i think/hope farrelly will be replaced by woodsy and george is given a free role on the right. no point in telling him to be a winger but if he is at least in that sort of area he'll be productive.

Well according to George( i know, i know) Mathews has told him he'l be playing through the middle.

Eh if you read the first post you'll realise that it's a thread to find out what other teams first 11's are. So putting it on my forum wouldn't be much use to me now would it?
If you want to keep yours a secret off with you, but I'm hoping some other fans might have an interest and respond

Does it specify Cork City anywhere? In fact, it asks the general populace what their team will be for the sake of a fantasy football team. You're relatively new, so a word of friendly advise: In future, read threads before posting and making a gom of yourself. Just another embarrassment saving tip on behalf of the Foot.ie Membership Advisory Board.

How did you get on that board!?!? :)
I'd respond to the original question but, well I'm a Limerick supporter, as it stands I could be the best option for right back
For Harps I would expect something resembling:
Gallagher
Labonte, Malcolm, Minnock, Holmes
Breen/Funston, Shields, McGowan, Williams
Parkhouse/Beckett Gethins

I just made it right now. We serve tea/coffee and jaffa cakes at our meetings, the first of which is a few minutes in my kitchen.

That's a bloody outrage! I sent dahamsta a preview DVD of my baking skills, including a delicious homemade quiche I call Flan De Jebus, with Right Here, Right Now as the soundtrack and this is what happens!! Jaffa cakes indeed

Don't you know splashing the cash in the short term is bound to lead to success for the future?

Apologies, did not read the post correctly first time, so hands up on that one.
If you are dishing out ADVICE, can I reply in kind and suggest you refer to a dictionary or thesaurus next time you are mounting the high horse?
And as for a starting XI, my United one would be:
Rogers
Keane, Fitzgerald, Nooitmeer, McCulloch
O Brien, Robson, Deegan, O'Shea
O'Flynn Leech

In fairness, I laughed out loud at that. Or smirked anyway.
Derry's
Quigley
McCallion
McChrystal
Gray
Callaghan
Molloy
Martyn
McCourt
McGinn
Salmmon
Morrow/McHugh/Farren

Not sure if you care about First Division teams :( but here's my guess at Dundalk's starting eleven...
Chris Bennion
John Flanagan - Aidan Lynch - Ben Whelehan - David Crawley
Jamie Duffy - David Cassidy - Paul Marney - Davie O'Connor
Robbie Farrell - Robbie Martin

Jamie Duffy
Is that the Jamie Duffy who was at Longford last season?
I always rated him, should still be playing prem football imo.

If memory serves, only a mod can edit a thread title.
I'd guess UCD will field something like this:
Gregg
Mahon Kenna McNally Bermingham
Fitzgerald Finn King Doyle
Byrne McWalter
There's a certain amount of that up in the air: Keeney could be the first choice left back (or even wing), Purcell among others might start up front. Also, Doyle's leg is broken, so McWalter will probably start on the wing for the first couple of months.

Yep, that's him. Won a First Division medal with Rovers in 2006 also.

He will be again soon enough. ;)

Its a pretty good team, Naka & McGeady can swap & we have good options off the bench (Sno/Smaras/Hartley/O'Dea)....so fingers crossed for the rest of the season!

incase you dont know rovers last competitive match was over 3 months ago.
your right he could have done better towards the end of last season but i dont know why any rovers fan would not put him in their preffered starting XI.
