Just a quick query. What price are clubs charging for their programmes this season. I know Rovers charged €4 last year and I think Wexford Youths charged the same in the First Division. What did other clubs charge last year and what are they likely to charge next year. Harps charged €3 last season and I know that they are going with a full colour programme in the new season.

Also, do many people on here buy programmes when they go to games. And what to people think of the overall standard of programmes in the EL.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Think Bohs were €4. I like to get a program when I can but usually end up losing it by the time I fall home from the match

Wexford Youths started out a €3 and went up to €4, apparently they were making a loss selling it at €3.

I was at a good few Bohs games and I'm nearly sure it was only €3, good quality too. Pat's is good even if €20 is a bit steep for the crappy seats in that stand. I always buy a programme anyway so it's OK value for me.

I'm pretty sure the Shels one was also €3, was OK but not great.

Limerick one is ok, its got more articles than ads!

Dundalk one is excellent, slightly awkward size but the best style and content are brilliant.

Wexford Youths is huge and expensive but theres not much of interest in it.

Finn harps one is pretty good, lots of stats and intersting articles in it.

Athlone is poor, almost entirely ads !

Cobh one similarly poor, black & white and mostly ads.

Kildare one is very poor, I think they do the same one for 2 or 3 different games so the actual fixture got a mention on likethe 2nd last page, most of it wasnt relative to the game.

The Monagahn one iirc is for 2 games  its average enough otherwise.

Shels one is ok.

As the boys above said, the Youths one was pretty poor and came in for a lot of fair comment. I stopped buying them half way through the year. The weekly feature from Mick Wallace was merely reprinted from the local newspaper the Wednesday before and with the amount of adverts, you might as well have being reading the Golden Pages.

I do believe it was running at loss and there was a commitment given for the year to the producer. Perhaps this season's one will be better.

Like everything, we are on a learning curve

Outside of Dundalk and Shelbourne the first division is useless for programmes,, in my opinion.

well like I say I rarely get one anymore thought they were €4, although I've been at matches were I've been so sloshed I've had to check teletext on a saturday morning to see what score it was! not anymore though I've grown up and actually watched Bohs relatively sober last season

:D With some of the football on show last season i bet you wished at times that you'd postponed the growing up for another season!

I bought every home programme last season and still have them in the cupboard. I only really did it cos it was my first full season as a fan. I was looking at them recently, thinking what a waste of 75 quid that was!

I'll likely only buy the odd one this year. The couple of columns inside are a good read most of the time.

United was €2.50 last year, bit hit and miss, could do with more articles but hard to argue with €2.50 really

Ditto for UCD.

We might be "upgrading" to glossy colour next season which would increase the price to €3.

Apart from the sh!te bit. Not upgrading to glossy that I've heard (that could be where you're getting the sh!te?). Far too costly.

Cork City's is going to €4 alright but will have alot more in it. There is a good bit of effort going into it to push it onto the next level.

They'll have to get to the level it was 2/3 years ago first...

Exactly, surely it's another 6 months before we're due to carry out another abortive two issue conversion to glossy.;)
