After resurecting Sligomans thread and passinginterest's post I say id make this

GAA is no.1 by a country mile, they are a disgrace to the country

American Football is no.2,after playing rugby for 7yrs I know what its liked to be tackled and to tackle, these idiots run into each other with helmets and huge padding, theres breaks in play every few seconds and is very boring

I think this was done at the same time as that other thread.

Hate rugby; can't understand what's so entertaining about 30 men running into each other and kicking the ball out of touch. Utterly tedious game.

American football's the same only worse. Baseball, basketball (not as bad) and cricket would be up there too.

Without wanting to drag this off topic, the notion the GAA are a disgrace to the country is just silly. Yes, they have their faults (rather large ones in the case of Thomas Davis), but you can't tar the whole sport because of a few incidents like that.

Generally speaking you can just avoid the sports you don't like. I could probably take an interest in anything for a few minutes.

I''d watch the big rugby matches but its hard to avoid the bull**** culture sorrounding it and it can get very tiring.
I was forced in to watching that RTE documentary on the Ireland England game at Croker twice and it was a disgraceful bag of ballsology.
Escape to victory music on and D4 accents saying
The WHOOOOLE nation . . . . . . epic battle of the ages . . . . . . . It was like a war of attrition . . . .
No, it was like a football match, a very good rugby match now shut up!!!!

plz dont let this become another "lets knock the GAA" thread but under another different name, getting boring lads.
i like fast sports in general but have in recent years been fascinated by american football, pure tactics, pure cat and mouse "will he 'blitz' or wont he".and last nights superbowl was incredible.how many major show piece finals turn out to be boiring affairs as both sides are too afraid of losing but not last night, amazing stuff.
cricket for me is number one.baseball is number 2-i was at a game in yankee stadium a few years ago and it was 3 hours of utter boredom.and if bowls does become an olympic sport which is supposed to happen then it will be a tradegy.

That's another confusing thing - how can you like rugby union and hate rugby league?! It still involves no more than brute force and thick ignorance, with an unhealthy dose of hoofing for good measure.

Any sport which doesn't involve you to pass the ball forward is just wrong, in my opinion.

If you don't have any money involved, horseracing. If you have money involved, it's absolutely thrilling

EDIT : Any form of motor racing.

Horse Racing. The only purpose is to gamble on otherwise pointless.

I'm actually not much of a sports fan. Football doesn't count ...in many ways it's my Rock'N'Roll.

I find tennis utterly unwatchable. Snooker too ..though I can quite enjoy playing it.

Track sports also leave me cold -though I'll ackowledge there should be far more emphasis on them in our schools PE programmes as the data is there that fewer than one in ten kids is actually suited to team sports. But you're up against it pushing change through there as many schools use their sports teams (i.e. Rugby, GAA and probably to a lesser extent Football) as flagships and adverts for the school.

When I was really small I used enjoy motor racing ...I think it was just watching all the different coloured cars being noisy and fast. Rally driving likewise. Nowadays I'd wonder what manner of six-toed moron gets off on this? ...and I'd have deeper worries again about the person that goes to these events.

Anything equine is ridiculous as well. I ate a horse steak in France a few years back and it was delicious ...a far more practical use for them things.

Shock! Horror! Lots of mentions for cricket. Some people are so wrong it's not even funny. Cricket is fascinating. Baseball too.
I don't gamble, so I don't get horse racing. Motor racing, particularly Formula 1 has become tedious over the last ten years or so.
I'm a fan of snooker, but it's heading in the same direction.

Any sport that you get marks for style is generally a no-no. Specifically ski-jumping. I don't care how still he keeps, if he gets the furthest he should win.

Can certainly be exciting, and whats not to like about going to Eng V Aus on the 4th day of an Ashes test at Old Trafford in glorous sunshine on a sunday morning and cracking the 1st beer at 10.45 as England are about to get tanked by Warne, gillespie etc

Yank football, motor racing (environmentally dodgy AS WELL AS just plain boring), Horses and Dogs (sport in the old sense of the word).

Cricket and Baseball are very enjoyable games - you just need patience. Also, note the possibilities of drinking while watcing are very high too...

pineapple stu

I can drink wihle not watching them too, though.

Cricket is remarkably same-y, is my problem. People stand around, one person rubs his crotch with the ball, runs up, hurls it down the wicket to the batsman, who lets it go wide. And we all stop and do the exact same thing another thousand times.

And the qualitative difference between that and the hunt for the new Ireland manager is what, exactly?

From Wiki definition:

Curling: Teams alternate turns at sliding heavy, polished granite stones down the ice towards the target area called the house. Two sweepers with brooms accompany each rock and use timing equipment and their best judgement along with direction from their other teammates to help direct the stones to their resting place. The complex nature of stone placement and shot selection has led some to refer to curling as "chess on ice".

I think Don Givens should look at this formation tonight.

Left early. Couldn't hack it. They were all going metal celebrating even when they just recovered possession in midfield. Strange stuff.
The local rag even said it was a crap game so maybe I'm judging to harshly. Actually no, I'm not. F**k off NFL

Cant believe snooker is coming up its a great game to watch nut like everything depends on who is playing. Same with soccer it is **** boring if you get two crap teams playing each other. Golf wouldnt be very entertaining but then again you will always watch it if Harrington is doing well.

Mine has to be F1 Motor Racing it really is terrible!! Agree with Horse racing apart from betting purposes it is pointless. Cricket is sh1te too. I think any sport that cant be played in the rain forget about it!!!

Basketball for me - how can you get excited by a game of 4 quarters with 2/3 points a score that will end in a score of something like 110-90....why bother watching the first 3 quarters when you know that it'll only get "exciting" (and I use that term in the loosest manner possible) in the last 5 minutes or so??

Also rugby league - pass, run into player, roll ball back, pass, run into player then roll ball back....repeat 5 times....then kick to opposition. Anyone comparing this to union must be having a laugh...

I'm inclined to agree. It's like watching Titanic. You can join it with only a few minutes left and miss absolutlely nothing of substantial importance to the outcome.

Edit: except of course Kaste Winslett doesn't get her frankly delicious baps out in your average game of basketball.
