According to the Sun anyway

A small bit of sympathy for someone who was always dedicated to the cause of his national team but when you bug*er off to some nonentity of a team, you have to expect your international days are over, especially when your new international boss is someone who has dropped you before.

I never knew England were going to stop playing international football after this friendly.

He hasn't played a competitive game since the game against Croatia last November. He's not match fit.

No sympathy for him. Hope he stays on 99. Its not Hollywood.

Who does he think he is, Joey Lapira.

when he signed for the Galaxy he didn't do it to further his internation career.
He should accept the consequences instead of whinging about being sharp and ready to play. If he had any shred of professionalism( and cop on) he would have declared himself unfit. He hasn't kicked a competitive ball in 3 months for gods sake. Does he believe his own hype so much that he didn't have the foresight to see this comming from Capello?

Capello was right to leave him out. As posted earlier, he's unfit. When the MLS season starts up again and he is playing well, then maybe he deserves a call.

I see people having a knock at him but i wish all the Ireland players seemed as keen to put on their country's shirt as he is!

That's fair enough BUT lot's of people would love to play for their country. He's currently one of the many who don't make the grade. He'll get his 100th cap, there'll be a song an dance and the red tops will get their pictures. no news here.

Ingerland should bring back Lineker and see if he can break Charlton's 49 goals record..............

Capello won't give him his 100th cap, unless injuries force him to, and to be fair it's just desserts for Beckham for moving to Hollywood for money. He should have gone to Tottenham, West Ham or some other no mark English club and he would have had his chance

The Classic is that the FA had him as the front cover of the match programme, but had to scrap that idea costing them a good bit of money.

It's only because he hasn't played competetively in almost 3 months. He'll get his cap and then everyone can get over it.

Top managers give Beckham backing:

Wenger:
"This guy deserves a lot of credit, every day he was first out, last in and give him competitive games with LA Galaxy he will fight for his 100th."

Sounds like England's man! :D

Personally i think this is a disgrace, but if capello is only going on the lack of match practise and puts him iin the squad after a few games, then i would have great respect for capello, hope defoe gets in the squad too.

the mans different class, cant be denied when mclaren ****ed him around he kept the head down and worked harder, when mclaren called him back he answered the call, the man has been a fantastic servant to his country and deserves his 100th cap

Different class to whom? He's 32 and (hasn't been) playing at a CC championship level.

If I managed Andorra, much less England, I think I'd have more pressing concerns than getting a distracted, waning stars caps up to a nice even number.

But as I've already said he'll get his 100th cap.
