Speaking of player sponsorship are the we the good people of foot.ie going to sponsor Shane Guthrie. Now is the time to do it like.

I think the price is 200 per player. I'd forget the Bank account thing as I'd say it'd be too messy for accounts. Nominate one of you to collect the cash and pay it all at once. If you have your hearts set on having foot.ie as the sponsor then approach Admin here for a cash input as it'll be his site (not you guys) that are getting the advertising out of it.

We on the Cobh forum are looking to sponsor a player for the coming season.
The player will be sponsored by foot.ie so the lads feel it is worth asking you for a donation toward the sponsorship as it will be advertising for the website. We feel €25 should be enough.

I don't know all the in's and out's regarding Player Sponsorship and what sort of advertising is given in return for the fee charged so maybe one of you should get onto Willie Kane to find out exactly what you'll get for your dosh. I think the player sponsorship thing wasn't as great a success as it was hoped it would be, but revenue is revenue I suppose. I do think though that maybe 500 is a bit steep. Since Foot.ie is backed by a company, I'd suggest having Foot.ie handle the donations in the same way we handled the Ireland flag last year; and assuming the sponsorship consists of just a mention in the programme, I'd suggest using the tagline of "Foot.ie Supporters" rather than just Foot.ie.

I'd be willing to donate €50 if the cost if €200, or €100 if the cost is €500.
