Anyone watching this series? I watched the second installment last night. I thought it was good stuff, he is embedded with royal marines in Afganistan. Its seems to be a warts and all documentary. Obviously they are sensitive to familys of servicemen but they werent afraid to show Taliban strongholds being blown to pieces.
Should be interesting to follow.

excellent show , scary stuff did you hear the bullets wizzing over his head, deserves an award for bravery for going to that extreme to make a program
one thing that struck home was how young most of the soldiers were

Its awfull im stuck living with a guy that watches this mindless nonsense all the time, he watched his Gangs series and now this.
This is why i spend lots of time upstairs in a real war on call of duty on ps3 instead of watching Bungle yap on about guns

He does a little too much editorialising but its much better that the gangs series, it got stale towards the end.

make you sit back and think what is the real point of the war, are the taliban ever really going to be stopped, will all the deaths really be worth it?

Not much of a war though when they keep calling in the airforce who basically plummel anything that moves

How is that not a war in all fairness? They've got the hardware so they're using it.

Thats what i thought. Seeing the coffins coming home was harrowing and the faces on the soldiers watching it was worse.
I think its well done and seeing how the war effects the families of these men and woman is important.
