Quigley gone up to Derry for a medical today. Will sign a three year contract. Interesting to see what fee we get for him.

Sadly that means we're probably prepared to settle for less. I think we should be as obstinate as possible so we can get a good deal and use that as a marker for the future. Obviously the Sammon deal will be used a benchmark. I feel we settled for too little and don't quite understand we did, but then again I know nothing about running a club.

It shouldn't though. Quigley has more U21 caps and is a B international.

Very true. I think losing him will condemn us to relegation.

Conor Sammon scored 2 in a freindly win against Institute tonight, one from a header.

Backs up what we said about his good scoring record against First Division and non-league sides last season. ;)

Edit - you gotta love stuff like this from the Derry forum!

Sammons unreal.i know it was only stute but he looked top class.
worked as hard as any forward i have seen in a wile.
his touches and vision were good his goals we excellent.
if we look after him properly and he stays injury free and keeps improving we could have THE LOI 1st million £ player.

were could i get a price on sammon being the leagues top scorer??

I know it's OTT; not trying to put it out as what everyone's thinking (he's been told he's talking nonsense), but it's hilarious nonetheless!

Also, *fondles crotch* - didn't wet myself. Sorry to spoil that one for you. Bit more mature posting around here, please. Remember whose forum you're on. ;)

The College Tribune claims that Quigley and Mahon's relationship had been deteriorating and that he didn't bother to turn up for pre-season training prompting Mahon to go back and sign Gregg having already released him.

Yep was in the starting lineup last night. Hard to tell if he'll be first choice yet though, Gerard Doherty is a very capable goalkeeper aswell.

Quigley has been assigned the No.1 jersey - that might be an indication of who SK thinks will be his first choice.
