Would there be any chance of having a coaching subforum? There isn't a specific area on the site to discuss the topic and I'm sure plenty of people would use it.

We're driven by demand around here, so how much demand is there? I'm not sure I've ever been asked for a coaching forum before, which doesn't bode well.

Wouldn't be quite sure to be honest. This thread (http://foot.ie/showthread.php?t=33115&highlight=coaching) indicates that there's a good few registered users who have an interest in the topic. Creating a dedicated subforum would more than likely see at least a couple more people posting about the topic. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see how much of a response this gets.

TBH a 2 page thread in the Kids forum doesn't really prove anything. However there's nothing stopping ye starting a Coaching thread in the OT forum to see how it goes. I'm sure people that are genuinely interested will be pointed in the right direction and/or will notice it if it's busy enough. If it stretches to many pages, then a dedicated forum might be the next step.

It could also encompass all the UEFA Badges, the training camps for the badges (details, times etc.) The FAI development plans/schemes, also rehabilitation programmes the players need, and lack there of. Also the functional training that player need and the do's and don'ts that seem sometimes to be largely ignored.
Also do coaches know of training camps that target tactics and skills, management skills that are available (admittedly all abroad) and that they should be taking.
Is this the single most neglected issue in Irish Football and the fact there is no demand for a forum on this strike anyone as alarming.
Agreed, there is clearly a need for it but no demand for it. Sad but true

A face, all that info sounds fascinating... for a coach. I'm not. I'm guessing you're not, Dahamsta isn't, Damanetc isn't... who's on here who really needs to know how to get a UEFA B licence, who can't find that info elsewhere?

along with that there could be a section for people to exchange different training drills or name useful websites.
there was a decent couple of threads around Sept / Oct about tactics in the junior section* - called Manager Advice. Got a very good response at the time.
* Apologies but I still don't know how to Quote a different Thread or Post (from a different thread). :o
