View Full Version : New format
I know i posted a thread about this before, but i cant find it.
Anyways, a plea to Adam
Please get rid of that annoying bar that follows you around.
It is really annoying and im sure most users will agree with me. Other than that i like the rest of the new format (lack of lines etc).
Anyone else???

Change to the old style from your control panel > edit options.

Yeah I've gone back to the old style myself but I agree with GWA, it's just the bar that follows you around that bugged me, the rest of the changes were very much improvements on the old layout. That's just my two cent on the whole thing anyway!

Sorry guys, but 2 out of 1250 ain't gonna get me to change my mind, and neither is a vague "annoying" and "bugged", particularly when you SHOUT it GWA, more particularly when I've addressed this before. You might as well stamp your foot and pout while you're at it, for all the good it's going to do.

I don't expect it to change your mind but GWA had asked what other people felt so I decided to throw in my view (I do that a lot). And without wanting to get drawn into a massive debate here, it's a little presumptous to assume that the other 1248 people are totally content with the layout.
Anyway, this forum is entitled 'Feedback/Support' and this clearly falls into the feedback camp. So GWA fed back, you fed back, I fed back and then you fed back some more - the system works hurrah! :)

I like the lines but I liked having a bar at the top that didn't run after you. Oh well no pleasing me I suppose.

I think that was me actually! :D I wasn't really serious though. Somebody else agreed with me anyway so they're the one to really worry about! ;)

Wewn I change the settings to go back to the old style it only works for the forums page, cause the new style slows down the mac somethin fierce, not just IE, but the whole thing
The bar at the top that follows you everywhere is extemely irritating, apart from that I like the new format.

That seems to be the general concensus of this thread (James isn't the only illiterate here! :)) so far Colm.

the floating thning is brilliant. could it be put at the end of the page instead of the top. it would be more visable there.

Im so effing sorry Adam. i thought this was a support and FAQ forum. But u obviously cannot take any critisism. Not that even was being critical, just making a bloody point about something. But if you want to take it that way, fine.
You say you addressed it, no you didnt. You gave a solution which didnt work. i have changed the thingy to NOCOOKIES and while the old format is there for the main page, the rest of them still have that stupid piece of crap following all around the place.
And before you say it, i am pouting and i am stamping my foot.

As I've said here before, I'm not making any changes to Foot.ie until vB3 goes gold, because it will mean making changes twice -- once now, and once after I upgrade. If the alternative doesn't work for you then I'm sorry, but you're stuck with it until I'm in a position to upgrade to vB3. A little patience wouldn't go astray.

Ok ok, I'll make it static when I upgrade to the next vB, ok? I'll do a whole new style with the follow-bar just for me and my dog.

Finally :D
I have to say on a slow PC, its horrible as you're waiting for it to catch up... On a quick PC and (on an intranet in Work) its OK but I'd prefer not to have it

I've been tooling with a couple of small bits and pieces so I "stuck" the navbar while I was at it. Note that I made this change because of compatibility/performance issues, not because of the general complaints. I'll be reintroducting the floating bar in a separate style at a later date.
If it's not static for you, hit Refresh/Reload. If it's still not working, try a hard refresh (CTRL+F5).
